Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for engagement as Lecturers/Assistant Lecturers/PTI on academic arrangement basis in Government College of Engineering & Technology, ChakBhalwal, Jammu,for the academic session 2017-18 in the following Streams/Subjects-

Eligibility conditions for various categories :-

a)Lecturers (Engineering)

The candidate must possess B.E/B.Tech and Master’s degree in relevant branch with first class or equivalent either in B.E/B. Tech or Master’s Degree.

b)Lecturers ( Physics, Chemistry and Mathematic)

The Candidate must possess post graduate degree in the concerned subject with minimum 55% marks (50% in case of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Physically & Visually handicapped candidates) alongwith NET/SLET/Ph.D.

c)Lecturers(Humanities-Management)

The candidate must possess Master’s degree in relevant subject with first Class (60%) or equivalent, (55% in case of Scheduled caste, Scheduled Tribe and Physically & visually handicapped candidates) alongwith NET/SLET conducted by UGC/CSIR/Association of Indian University (AIU) University of Kashmir/Jammu with accreditation from UGC or Ph.D in concerned subject.

d)Assistant Lecturers (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Humanities Management)

The candidates must possess post Graduate degree in the concerned subject having minimum 55% marks (50% in case of Scheduled caste, Scheduled Tribe and Physically & visually handicapped candidates).

e)Physical Training Instructor

The candidates must possess Post Graduate degree in the concerned subject i.e. M.P. Ed having minimum 55% marks (50% in case of Scheduled caste, Scheduled Tribe and Physically & visually handicapped candidates) alongwith NET/SLET/Ph.D.

Selection Process

The Principal, Govt. College of Engineering and Technology, ChakBhalwal, Jammu shall arrange and conduct a written/screening test for all the eligible candidates, if required. However, the candidates with NET/SLET/Ph.D. are exempted from written/screening test. The selection of the candidates shall be made by the Selection Committee strictly on the basis of Merit list to be prepared. The applicants are advised to keep in touch with the office of Registrar, GCET, Jammu for further information.

Terms and conditions-

The engagement of candidates shall be made on the following terms and conditions-

  1. The candidate should be a State Subject of Jammu and Kashmir.
  2. The engagement of candidates will be made for one academic session or till the post is filled by appointment of a candidate duly selected by the Public Service Commission or by transfer of a regular employee against the post occupied by an academic arrangement candidate whichever is earlier.
  1. The candidate engaged shall have to:-
  1. Maintain discipline and not act in a manner unbecoming of a Govt. Servant. Indiscipline of any kind shall make the candidate liable for disengagement.
  1. Maintain punctuality and work to the satisfaction of the standards set up by the Principal and various performance indices.
  1. Produce a certificate of good moral character from aGazettedOfficer.
  1. Furnish an undertaking on a Non judicial stamp paper of Rs. 20/- duly attested by a 1stClass Judicial Magistrate to the effect that he/she has accepted the terms and conditions as detailed in this notification and shall have no preferential claim for regular appointment or for regularization of the academic arrangement.
  1. Admissibility of different kinds of leave to the academic arrangement candidates-
  1. A candidate engaged shall be allowed casual leave of 15 days only during a session to address exigencies preventing him/her from attending the duties. This shall, however, be allowed on pro-rata basis of four casual leaves per quarter with three days for the last quarter of the year.
  2. A candidate shall be allowed Medical Leave of 20 days (without remuneration) during a session on production of Medical certificate. If any candidate exceeds the limit he/she shall be deemed to be on leave for a period of 6 months (without remuneration) and a substitute shall be engaged during his/her leave period.
  3. The female candidates who apply for Maternity leave shall be allowed maternity leave of 6 months (without remuneration) during which period a substitute shall be engaged to continue the teaching work. Incase of non joining after 6 months, she shall be dropped from the list for the session.
  4. The engagement of candidates shall be subject to outcome of the Court Cases, if any, on the subject pending disposal in any Court of Law.
  5. The remuneration shall be paid as per Government Order No. 35/HE of 2014 dated 23-1-2014 and circular No. 08-HE of 2015 dated 29-10-2015.

The applications complete in all respects shall be submitted in the Office of Principal, Govt. College of Engineering & Technology, ChakBhalwal, Jammu, by or before 10th of August 2017 upto 2.00 P.M. alongwitha copy of the Bank receipt of an amount of Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) having been deposited in the account of Principal, Govt.
