Job title:Marketing and Communications Apprentice

Hours:Full time: 35 hours per week (12 months fixed term contract)

Reporting to:Head of Communications

Salary:National Minimum Wage, according to age of apprentice.

Job purpose:

  • To help achieve ACRE’s vision to be the voice of rural communities through its strategic objectives and corporate plan
  • To assist the Head of Communications to deliver a programme of marketing and communications activities
  • To develop internal and external communications with stakeholders, including the development of ACRE’s social media channels and supporting the organisation, marketing and delivery of events and conferences
  • To provide administrative and research assistance to the Head of Communications
  • To support the development of ACRE’s engagement in public and parliamentary affairs

Key tasks:

1.Marketing and Communications

1.1To contribute ideas that will develop ACRE’s marketing and communications activities

1.2To assist the Head of Communications to deliver a programme of marketing and communications activities, including the production and distribution of newsletters, e-shots, etc.

1.3To develop marketing and promotional campaigns relating to ACRE products and services

1.4To undertake market research of stakeholders using Survey Monkey, etc

1.5To assist in the production of ACRE marketing and promotional literature/materials

1.6To support the development of electronic marketing including the creating and implementation of electronic marketing campaigns and assisting in the follow up evaluation

1.7To support the development of ACRE’s engagement in public and parliamentary affairs

1.8To develop and monitor media relations, including the production of press releases, monitoring press coverage and assisting in the evaluation of campaigns

1.9To support the development of in-house design capability (primarily using In-Design software)

1.10Proof-reading copy for ACRE literature

2.IT and Social Media

2.1To assist in developing, updating and monitoring the ACRE website

2.2Monitor and report on the use of the ACRE website (Google analytics)

2.3Develop ACRE’s presence on social media channels, including Twitter, Facebook, Linked-In, etc

2.4Monitoring the effectiveness of ACRE’s presence on social media channels

2.5To develop and maintain databases, including ACRE’s stakeholder and media databases

2.6Develop the effective use of Survey Monkey

3.Conferences and Events

3.1Assist in the development of a marketing strategy to ensure a high level of attendance at ACRE events and to identify and attract exhibitors and sponsors

3.2Assist with the planning, organisation, and administration of ACRE events and conferences

3.3Assist with the development, production and collation of exhibition materials, literature, materials, etc

3.4Assist with on-site exhibitions (including liaising with exhibitors and assisting with layout on-site)

3.5Assist with the booking and registration of delegates, speakers and exhibitors

3.6Assist with the production and collation of Delegate packs, etc

3.7Attend events, as required

4.General

4.1Carry out any other administrative or communication tasks as required by the Head of Communications

4.2Provide research assistance to the Head of Communications

4.3Provide support in the management of projects/initiatives as required

5.Any other duties as may be reasonably agreed with the Chief Executive
