Copy Out Dictionary or Files

Hint: Before you copy out your Main Dictionary, hit F9, then enter to check the name of your Main Dictionary. Ctrl q to quit out and save dictionary.

Copy out Dictionary or Files

1.  Put your flash drive into the USB port of the computer to copy files out of

2.  From the Eclipse Main menu, hit Ctrl f

3.  The File Manager menu will open up

4.  Click and check the box next to the files you want to copy out (your dictionary name or file names)

5.  After you have put a check next to the files you want to copy out

6.  Click on the ‘Copy to’ button on the left column

7.  From the List, scroll down to Browse, click Okay, scroll down and locate your Flash Drive, and click Okay.

8.  Exit out of Eclipse and go to Computer (Windows 8, click on the folder on the task bar)

and click and open your flash drive to make sure you have properly copied out your Main

dictionary to your flash drive - Always use the “Safely Remove Hardware” ico on the notification taskbar to remove your Flash Drive

Copy in Dictionary or Files

1.  Put your flash drive into the USB port in your computer

2.  Go to computer and double click on the removable drive

3.  Locate your dictionary or files that you want to copy in and click and highlight them

4.  Hit Ctrl c

5.  Exit Computer Menu

6.  Next go into Total Eclipse

7.  From the Eclipse Main Menu, hit Ctrl F

8.  The File Manager Menu will open up

9.  At the top of the menu click on the button called “Explore”

10. When that window opens up, hit Ctrl v (to paste files)

Dictionary Setup

If you have copied in your dictionary, you will also need to do the following steps:

•  Setup your main dictionary in your new user:

(For use with those students using school lab computers)

1.  From the Main Eclipse Menu, hit Alt U

2.  From the User Tab, click on the Dictionaries button

3.  Click on the dictionary listed for Main (even if it is the same name as your main dictionary)

4.  Click on the Change button. When the menu opens, find your dictionary; highlight it and then click Open

5.  Click Okay at the Open Window

6.  Click Okay at the User Settings Menu

7.  Exit out of Eclipse and then go back in and hit F9 and make sure your dictionary appears.

Export Settings

1.  To Export Settings, go to the Eclipse Main Menu

2.  Hit Alt U

3.  Click on the Export Button

4.  Click Okay on the User Settings Transfer Menu (leave all boxes checked)

5.  In File Name, type in your name and the date, i.e.: linda9-06

6.  In the Save In box, click on the down arrow and chose Floppy A or your Flash Stick

7.  Click the Save Button

8.  You will be back at the User Settings Menu. Click Okay.

Copy out Block File Folder (Use Flash Drive)

1.  First insert your flash or external hard drive into your computer

2.  From the Eclipse main menu, go to your File Explorer (Ctrl f)

3.  Next click on the Explore button at the top

4.  Locate the Block File Folder on the right

5.  Right click on the Block File folder

6.  Choose the Send To option

7.  Choose your Flash Drive
