TOPIC: SEAPERCH

Are you interested in robotics? EVHS is putting together a select team to compete in the National SeaPerch underwater robotic design contest. SeaPerch is a high profile design competition, used by many college recruiters to identify high schooltalent and scholarship candidates. A brief information meeting will be held in Mrs. Burton's Room, Room 730, on Thursday 11/13 at 4:00pm. Come see what it's all about and play with our robot prototype. Snacks will be provided!

TOPIC: STUDENT PARKING

Patriot Drivers, for safety reasons you must now park your vehicle in the lot and leave it in that space for the entirety of the instructional day. There is to be no moving of vehicles between classes/athletics. The only exceptions are those students who have permission to leave East View's campus. Thank you, students! Be safe!

TOPIC: EAST VIEW CHOIR VETERANS DAY CONCERT

Is a family member, friend, or loved one a veteran of our country’s armed forces? Then please join us for “A Tribute to Our Veterans” a musical concert presented by the East View Choral Department in conjunction with the EV Band, Drum and Fife Corps, and NJROTC. We will pay tribute and honor those who have served our country in this concert on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11th at 7:00 PM at Klett Performing Arts Center (at Georgetown High School). Veterans, some wearing uniforms or insignia, will be invited to the stage to share their rank, military branch, and where they served. Afterward, veterans will lead the audience down the hall to a complimentary dessert and coffee reception. Admission is free! We hope to see you there to help us honor our veterans on this special day.

TOPIC: PATRIOT FOOTBALL

Please make plans to attend the game today, Nov. 7th against Marble Falls HS at Mustang Stadium (2101 Mustang Dr., Marble Falls). It starts at 7:30 PM. All tickets at the gate will be $8. The Patriots play to clinch a play-off spot vs Marble Falls.

Nov. 11, 2014 and Wednesday, Nov.12, 2014 for Senior Portrait retakes. Cap & Gown will be provided by Prestige. Session is for Year Book Poses; Session Fee: No Charge (does not apply to portrait orders).

TOPIC: STAAR TESTS & TUTORING

Tutorials for the STAAR retest scheduled for the 1st week in December will begin next week. Tutoring will be held

Monday through Thursday, November 10-December 2, from 4:30-5:30. If you need to retake a STAAR test, please plan on attending STAAR tutorials every day. Room numbers will be posted Monday morning.

TOPIC: PROJECT GRADUATION

There will be a PROJECT GRADUATION meeting next Tuesday November 11th in the EV Library. Time is 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

TOPIC: REFLECTIONS

The world would be a better place if ... How would you finish that sentence? This is the theme for this year's PTSA Reflections program. Do you like to write? Do you enjoy photography? Do you compose songs when no one is listening? Do you draw or dance? Do youdream of being a film maker? Share your talent by entering the PTSA Reflections program. Anyone can enter and it is free! Pick up rules and entry forms at the Diamond or go to www.TxPTA.org/Programs/Reflections. The theme is "The World Would Be a Better Place if...." The deadline for entries is Monday, Dec. 1.Entries may be turned in at the Diamond.

EVHS Boys Basketball Try-Outs

Boys’ basketball try-outs will begin this today November 7. Try-out dates and times are:

Today Nov. 7:4:15-6:00pm

Saturday Nov.8:7:30-9:30am

Monday Nov. 10: 4:15-6:00pm

You MUST have a physical on file with our trainers before you are able to try-out. If you have a scheduling conflict and would like to try-out please see Coach White or Coach Jones ASAP.

TOPIC: KINDNESS MATTERS

A simple act of kindness has the power to change a life. Each week, students and staff will be asked to be kind in a particular way.This week's kindness challenge is to let someone go ahead of you in line - at school, at Starbucks, in traffic. It only takes a minute and will definitely make someone else smile.

TOPIC: UIL SPELLING AND VOCABULARY COMPETITION

Are you interested in competing in this year’s UIL spelling and vocabulary competition? Are you a whiz at spelling and vocabulary? If so, Mrs. Adkins needs YOU on the EVHS UIL academic Team.

There will be a brief informational meeting on Wednesday, November 12th at 4:00 pm in Mrs. Adkins’s room -214

You will be given your word lists and a schedule of the once a week practice meeting.

TOPIC: DIAMOND QUEENS

Do you love baseball? Do you want to support the varsity baseball team by attending games, supporting players, and bringing spirit? Be a Diamond Queen! Applications are available in the library and are due by November 21st. ​

TOPIC: GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM

The girls’ basketball team invites any retired or active duty military personnel to attend our home game on November 11th versus Westwood HS. Admission will be free to those with a military id or passand the attendees will be recognized for their contribution to the service of our country.

Please come to the game to see some great girls’ basketball and also to honor these individuals

TOPIC: SCHOLARSHIPS

Please check out the Scholarship on the EVHS website under Counselors in the Quick Links area. Several scholarships have been recently added.
