Election of club officers for 2017 – 2018 will be held at the Monday, November 1 meeting. Nominations include President, Paul Hogan; Vice President, Patrick Hogan; Recording Secretary, Owen Donohue; Treasurer – Tim O’Shea; Financial Secretary, Peter Hogan; and Sentinel, open. You have to be at the meeting to vote.
To all who volunteer at Kate’s Kitchen and those who would like to volunteer and join in the fun please Paul Hogan at 210-1416. Our next dates to volunteer are Sunday, November 13 and December 18.

Pete’s Calendars are in and will be available at the next meeting. Only $10 each, the March fundraising calendars make nice stocking stuffers for Christmas and are great birthday presents. All returns are due by February 22. Call Pete at 330-6635 and he will get some to you.

When a club member passes, the AOH and LAOH pay our respects at wakes for the deceased with a Hibernian ritual. If you would like more information or would welcome one, contact Paul Hogan at 210-1416 for the AOH and Paula Paoli at 210-6013 for the AOH.

Thanks go out to LAOH Division 2's Catholic Action officer Mary Laura Hohol for her work to benefit the Womanshelter/Companeras in Holyoke. This is what our organization is really about, helping other women and children in need. Please contact Mary Laura, , if you know an organization that may benefit from our donations or assistance.
The ladies are working on the 2017 quilt, and could use some more volunteers to embroider. This year’s quilt honors Saint Patrick. Please attend the meeting and pick up a small frame.
If any member would like to assist the AOH in this year's Childrens' Christmas Party, any and all help would be appreciated. There will be more information at the November meeting.
Remember that LAOH dues for 2017 are due by April. If you still owe dues for 2016, please make every effort to pay them, as our division will need to pay a per capita fee for each member for 2016 by the end of the year. Dues, $25 can be sent to Mary Pat Murphy at 9 Magnolia Ave., Holyoke, MA. 01040 or brought to the next meeting.

As always Doc Dean provides us with a reminder that Kate’s Kitchen needs our help. At the October meeting, volunteers reported there were only 30 plates to feed the 100 people in need. Donations will be gladly accepted at the November monthly meeting. Remember “Plates for Kate’s”. Our help is always appreciated.

Irish Cultural Center Events
Once, The Musical
Coming to the UMassAmherst Fine Arts Center on Thursday, December 1, the ICC is sponsoring a bus trip to see, Once The Musical an original Broadway experience. Winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, the show features an impressive ensemble of actors/musicians. Tickets are $72 for ICC patrons and $75 for all others. Order your tickets by November 18, call the ICC at 333-4951.
Christmas Mass with an Irish Touch
The ICC will host its annual Christmas Mass with an Irish Touch on Saturday, December 4 p.m. at the Elms College Chapel. Readings and parts of the Mass will be performed in the Irish language. The chapel is now located on the third floor in Berchmans Hall. Light refreshments will be served after Mass.
For all of us dedicated AOH/ LAOH Fans, listeners of The Healys Irish radio show, they are on the move again. The Healys will return to the air at new home and new time on Saturday, September 10th, WACE Radio - AM 730 (Chicopee/Springfield/Hartford) 11a.m. - 1p.m. Preprogram your dial and don’t miss a tune.
And finally, …. another monthly meeting, another 50/50 raffle. John T. Maloney’s name was picked so he didn’t go home with $49.50. The pot begins to grow. Come on down to the Wherehouse? Monday night. You might win.
