Current and Future Hume-Fogg Band Students (and parents)
In Mid-April we will begin Ensemble Placement Evaluations for next year’s HFA Bands. It is very important that you visit the band Dropbox and print out the files you will need for your placement evaluation! Please paste the following link to the HFA Band website into your browser URL and then hit “Enter.”Then find the section on that page that says “Ensemble Placement Evaluations.”
Current Students
If you wish to be a member of one of our two top groups, the Silver Jazz Band and/or Wind Ensemble, you must perform an evaluation for the director. If you wish to be a member of Concert Band, you must indicate that to the director, who will make your placement without an ensemble placement evaluation.
- Go to the HFA Band website and download ALL documents to your computer.
- FIRST, please read the “READ ME FIRST” document. Really!
- You will be playing scales, prepared music, and sightreading for your placement evaluation.
- Please FILL OUT the top section of the “Hume-Fogg Bands Ensemble Evaluation” document and make sure to bring it with you to the audition.
- Please print out, and sign the Wind Ensemble and/or Silver Jazz Band student agreement document and bring that with you to the audition.
- Posted on the board in the lower band room will be a sign-up sheet for Ensemble Placement Evaluation times.
