Thomas Internship Application for 2015

The Thomas Internship is made possible through the Robert and Dorris Thomas Endowment Fund. The purpose of the internship is to provide students with career development opportunities in libraries or information technology by providing practical training with pay for working in the UO Libraries.

This is a competitive application process. You must apply for a specific posted position and be available on the UO campus in Eugene (or elsewhere, if listed on a posting) for three academic terms.

NOTE: The UO requires certain conditions for student employment eligibility:

•Undergraduates at the UO must be enrolled for at least 8 credits, except during summer term.

•Graduate students (from anywhere) must be enrolled for at least 6 credits, unless you are working on your dissertation [master’s or Ph.D.], in which case, 3 credits may suffice.

•If selected for this program, you will need to provide proof of enrollment. A printed course schedule for your next term of classes is sufficient.

•Selected finalist will be asked for Social Security Number and date of birth in order to obtain a UO I.D. (if finalist has never previously been a UO student).

If selected as a Thomas Intern, you will be required to correspond with the donor at the end of the assignment.

This is a competitive internship application process that closes April 27, 2015. Your application will be reviewed by Library Administration, Library Development, and a potential intern supervisor for a specific project. If you are a “finalist,” the supervisor will contact you for an informational interview. We will try to contact you as soon as possible after the deadline.
