Plan of the Week

26 OCT – 1 NOV

Continuity Clinic Module: Kids Game (group activity that reinforces ages and stages/developmental milestones)

Information:

1.  AHTLA note completion: As some of you are quickly finding out, people are very serious about incomplete AHLTA notes. I’m sympathetic to all the barriers and why getting them done is sometimes difficult but the standard is 72 hours. Dr. Burklow is now hearing about all delinquent records. Please don’t find yourself on this list.

2.  Work Hours: Please record your work hours for block 4 by Saturday.

3.  Recruiting season update: 4th year applicant’s ERAS applications are available for review in Dr. Burklow’s conference room at WR and in the residency leadership’s office at NNMC. We will be VTCing on 2 NOV and 9 NOV to discuss the applicants. Only 1 more weeks until recruiting season is over!

4.  ILPs due by 30 OCT: Keep working on them and thanks to those of you who have them completed.

5.  Resident Admin Time: Proposal for regularly scheduled administrative time for each resident as a single four hour period during each rotation block from 1300-1700 on a Wednesday. We need to fine tune this proposal before submission to Dr. Yu and at least 2 weeks prior to the next P&C committee meeting on 20 NOV. Thoughts??

6.  Want to be Chief? PL-3s please let Dr. Gorman know if you plan on applying for the Chief resident position.

7.  FMR, PHAs: Great job on getting this stuff done and keeping up to date!

8.  Need Volunteers: I want to re-design the Army/Navy/AF military webpages on the nccpeds website. I took out a lot of the service specific information from last year’s scutdog and would like to better organize it and make it available on the website. Please send me any information that you would like to see on this page.

9.  WR Call Room Make Over! If you haven’t heard, our WR call room is being renovated, new computers, furniture, beds! The timeline hasn’t been finalized but hopefully it will begin sometime in November and will take approx 8 weeks. At this point I have no idea where you will sleep in the meantime.

  1. Yes, there is a PICU call room (room 4330, located on Ward 45A (Regional Anesthesia Stone Center, 1st little hallway on the left), and Ward 43-44 (IVF Suite, 1st little hallway on your right, door next to the scrub machines)).
  2. Single room with bunk beds and a bath room, computer, phone and 4 lockers. Phone number 782-5199. Punch lock code: 531

10.  Inservice Exam Scores: Scores are back, talk to your advisor or ask Dr. Yu.

11.  Semi-Annual meeting with Dr. Yu the week of 2 NOV: Be looking for your appointment time to be announced sometime next week.

12.  PL-3s going to Miami: If you are taking your spouse, please let me know ASAP. Final hotel arrangements are being made.
