JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Racquetball Instructor

POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides instruction and coaching to participants in racquetball classes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Responsible for the setup and breakdown of program area and for the maintenance and control of supplies and equipment.
2. Implements program activities according to the plan and schedule. Ensure YMCA program standards are met.
3. Provides leadership and guidance to participants. Ensures the safety of participants.
4. Ensures effective communication with participants, parents, staff and volunteers.
5. Records participant attendance, skill level achievement, and other required information.
6. Enforces safety rules and reports and treats any injuries.
7. Distributes and collects program satisfaction surveys.
8. Attends and participates in required staff meetings and trainings sessions.
9. Completes additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
2. Minimum five years participation in a racquetball program or program specific credentials.
3. Prior experience instructing racquetball classes is preferred.
4. Excellent communication skills.
5. Ability to effectively lead and supervise youth groups.
6. Strong customer services skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee will work indoors primarily within the racquetball courts located on the first floor. This is a fast-paced family recreational facility.

The employee must remain alert at all times.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Successfully complete New Employee Orientation, Child Abuse Prevention training and Bloodborne Pathogens training before beginning work at the assigned location.
Attend and participate in all required staff training sessions and meetings.
