STUDY GRANTS

The study grant is a sum of money paid in 2 instalments, assigned to students who meet the merit and income requisites prescribed by the Competition Call having duly filed an application. The amount of the study grant varies according to financial status and origin of the student (“at home”, “commuting” or “away from home”).

To prove the "away from home" status, one of the following must be submitted to the Student Benefits and Grants and International Mobility Service by no later than 15 October 2012:

·  copy of the duly registered rental agreement made out in the your name or in the name of one of your parents;

·  certificate or other tax-valid document in relation to payment of rent in the case of students domiciled at colleges, student residences or boarding schools not managed by the Politecnico di Milano.

Should, in previous academic years, you have already submitted the rental agreement or tax certification to the Student Benefits and Grants Service and there have been no changes to the situation already been certified, you may simply reconfirm the data by self-certification, attaching only a copy of the rental agreement registration certificate to the application.

Failure to submit this documentation will result in you being considered as commuting.

If you are a foreign student, you will nevertheless be considered “away from home”, regardless of the place of residence in Italy, unless the student's family resides in Italy.

Consult the call at www.polimi.it/borse. The amounts of grants and the differentiation between students at home, commuting and away from home are described in art. 4 Special Part - Student Grants - page 23 et seq.
