WCA Summer board meeting and Pacific Region Eco Arts conference
The WCA board meeting and eco-art conference will take place in Berkeley and San Francisco, California from June 24-27.
The board meeting will take place Saturday June 26, 8 -3pm and Sunday June 27, 8 - 3pm.
This year we are encouraging all chapter reps to attend.A special session for Chapter Reps is being planned for Saturday morning, June 26.
The DEADLINE for Board reports, committee reports, proposals and agenda items for the June Board meeting are due Wednesday, June 2 to
The WCA Pacific Region chapters are busy preparing for your visit and will announce hotel information, home-stay options,detailed agendas and registration information shortly.
Among the highlights:
June 24 - a tour of San Francisco artist studios and Recology Artist-in-Residence program (limited to 30 people)
June 25 - Elements Eco-art Conference in Berkeley
June 26 – Chapter Reps session and Board Meeting in San Francisco
June 27 - Board meeting in Berkeley
To take advantage of all these events, we suggest you make plans to arrive a day early and leave on the evening of June 27 or the next day.

It has been a very busy few months. I have spent countless hours speaking to many of you about your experiences, thoughts and the future of WCA. I am still in the process of making phone calls to past and current board members. Once that is complete, I will be in touch with Chapter presidents to get their thoughts, ideas and feedback. The planning for the 2011 WCA conference in New York is well underway, and the 2011 Lifetime Achievement awardees have been named. Look for more information in next week’s update.
Committees have been formed and are already busy at work. A list of committees and contact info for the chairs will be in the next update. Regional VPs have an updated job description and are working with the past and new VP’s of Chapter Relations, Barbara Wolanin and Ulla Barr. The newsletter is in the design stage and should be in your mailboxes at the end of May.
It is an exciting time to belong to WCA. I hope you will take an active role in building the future of our organization.
