RE: PENINSULA SCHOOL SPORT 19yrs & U REGIONAL TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS

The necessary details are as follows:

Venue: Cairns International Tennis Centre

Date: Friday 10th of February 2017

Program: 8.45 a.m arrival for 9.00am start - 4.00pm (Earlier finishes depending on results)

The Peninsula team will be named at 3.30pm. Teams should not plan to depart before 4.00pm, as Peninsula team members will be required for distribution of information and outfitting. Other students may leave early if their parents are there to collect them.

ALL students who attend these championships MUST have from the Peninsula School Sport Handbook (ON THE WEBSITE www.peninsulaschoolsport.eq.edu.au or from your school’s Sports Coordinator) the following forms photocopied back to back:

·  Permission to attend a Regional Championships & Availability or Non-Availability for Selection (N.B. Students who do not have this form with them, signed by their Parent & Principal may be sent back to school and WILL NOT be allowed to participate)

·  Student Details form

·  Project Consent Form (Media Permission)

Selection: Regional Coach (Patrick King) & Manager (Patrick Doolan)

** In accepting an Invitation to Compete in a Peninsula School Sport Team, the student and parents must ensure that other commitments will not affect the student’s availability and FULL participation in the State Championship Program. **

** Parents of students selected in District School Sport teams should be advised of the Peninsula School Sport Compulsory Travel Policy for ALL teams. **

-  Regional Team numbers 8 plus 4 Shadows (Boys and Girls)

Teams: District Team list (attached) MUST be e-mailed to Patrick King on by Wednesday 8th of Feb so the draw can be organised. This list is also necessary for the convenor to send in with the regional report.

Umpiring: District Managers/Coaches may be needed to assist with umpiring as well as the students self-umpiring during the games.

State Titles: Thu 9 March – Sun 12 March in Townsville. Travel day would be Wednesday 8 March. Independent Travel to and from Townsville with independent accommodation is needed (NO Billeting anymore in school sport)

Food: BYO or Small Restaurant Upstairs. Local eating areas within short walking distance.
