Going Away with - Training Day

GOING AWAY WITH - TRAINING DAY

Saturday 13th January 2018

The Going Away With Training has been devised to give Leaders the knowledge and confidence to take their girls away, either overnight or for a longer period. It will also give advice on gaining The Going Away With qualification.

Leaders working towards a residential qualification will be linked with a mentor to support them following this training and in advance of taking their girls away.

Leaders should attend whichever modules they feel are relevant, based on previous experience of residential events.

Other leaders, not necessarily working towards a residential qualification, but interested in any aspect of this training, are welcome to attend whichever sessions they choose.

9.00am-9.30am / Arrival - Register - Tea, Coffee and Danish pastriesetc
9.30am -10.30am / Session 1: Finding a venue, budgeting, paperwork and risk assessment
What venues are out there, how to work out costs, what forms to fill in.
10.30am-10.45am / Break
10.45am-12.30pm / Session 1: continued
12.30pm – 1.15pm / Lunch – and a opportunity to chat with others
1.15pm – 2.45pm / Session 2: Health and Hygiene-
Health Forms, First Aid Room, Health and Hygiene at Residential events.
2.45pm-3.00pm / Break
3.00pm-4.00pm / Session 3: Programme Planning and Themes
Lots of ideas to help you plan your sleepover or weekend away
4.00pm-5.00pm / Session 4 : Catering
How to cater for large numbers including menus, quantities etc

The cost of this training is £12(to include food and training handouts etc).
