Dental Practice Management Education Enjoys Business Link Funding Support!

Our new government has announced its new dental ministerial team, and confirmed its commitment to improving access, changing the NHS dental contract and reinforcing the importance of the CQC in licensing NHS and private dental practices. In addition, it has committed itself to improving education, both for our school-aged children, university students and training for adults; Business Link continues to support many people who want to improve their leadership and management skills.

What we have not seen, however, is any return to confidence by patients, and many of the practice managers who talked to us at the BDA Conference were really concerned about the empty appointment books, falling acceptance of treatment plans, cancellations from payment plans and of course the future role of the PCT and the new PDS-plus contracts.

Now is the time therefore, to review your future business needs and review your development plans in time to start a new course in the next academic year. Do try to select a programme that provides you with a recognised qualification, is designed specifically to meet the needs of a modern dental practice and is written and presented by dentists and business experts.

The Dentistry Business offers university accredited dental practice management courses at both Level 4 and Level 7 and these will both start in October. In addition to the already committed London and Manchester venues, the programmes will also be offered in Bristol, the Midlands and in a location convenient for Yorkshire and the North-East

The team at The Dentistry Business - dentists Lester Ellman and Carl Parnell - and businessman Sim Goldblum - are delighted at the response from BDPMA members to the introduction of these courses and the first cohort recently began its L4 journey.

If you are interested in joining the October programmes and want to understand more about potential funding from Business Link, do contact Sim Goldblum on 0161 408 2030 or on 07515 507 337
