Weeks 2 & 3 My Favourite Story

We all have favourite stories - Choose one of your favourites to bring in and share with us. You might be able to summarise the story for us, or read it to us if it is not too long. We would love to know why it is your favourite, and anything else thatmakes it special to you! (Please make sure your name is in the book)

Weeks 4 & 5 Aussie Animal Stories

We are thinking about wombats in preparation for Book-week. Choose an Australian Animal that you particularly like. Prepare a report for your group to teach them something interesting about that animal. Where does it live, what does it eat, describe the features of the animals etc. You may need to do some research at home or in the library.

Weeks 6 & 7 My Dad’s Story

It’s almost Fathers Day! Tell us all about your dad. What does he look like, what does he like to do and what do you do together. You might be able to tell us a funny story about your Dad or tell us why you love him so much! Don’t forget to bring a photo or draw a picture of Dad!

Weeks 8 & 9 Tell me a Tale

Stories come from all over the world. We will provide each child with a short folktale for them to practise telling. They will then need to tell that tale to the class. More info will come out closer to the time!

Thank you for helping your child prepare for speaking topics. Please remind them to practise lots at home so that they can speak confidently and enthusiastically. Please ensure that something is written in the speaking point – preferably dot points to keep them on track.
