Ron Henlein joins People Working Cooperatively as director of corporate and community partnerships

Longtime volunteer, board member dedicated to helping PWC grow

CINCINNATI – People Working Cooperatively (PWC), a local nonprofit that provides critical home repair, weatherization, modification and maintenance services to help low-income residents stay safely in their homes, announced today that longtime volunteer and board member Ron Henlein has joined PWC as Director of Corporate and Community Partnerships.

In this new position, Henlein will be the conduit between PWC and business and community groups, with an emphasis on increasing PWC’s work in the critical home repairs, modifications and weatherization areas.

“PWC serves the community’s most vulnerable homeowners and helps them remain safely in their homes, where they want to be,” Henlein said. “This is important work that has strengthened our community for the past 37 years. I’m excited to help PWC bring their valuable services to even more people in need.”

According to Jock Pitts, president of PWC, Henlein brings knowledge and passion to this position.

“Ron already has one career with PWC, as a dedicated volunteer for nearly 30 years,” Pitts said. “We’re thrilled that he has decided to take his dedication, a deep knowledge of PWC, and his astounding amount of knowledge in marketing and retail management to benefit PWC full-time.”

PWC has developed an efficient, cost-effective and productive business model of service that carefully assesses what the homeowner needs and provides the services that will allow them to remain living safely in their home.

“I see PWC as a tremendous service provider and one of the major economic drivers in the Cincinnati market,” Henlein said. “They are indeed the social economy that is so needed in our community and throughout the world today. I look forward to sharing PWC benefits with prospective partners and reaching more clients as a result.”

Henlein, a resident of White Oak, started as a volunteer with PWC in 1983, performing repair jobs for Repair Affair, the annual volunteer event he help found, and served as a board member from 1998 to 2012. Henlein has more than 25 years of professional experience in marketing and retail management. Prior to joining PWC, he oversaw The Home Depot’s store openings in the Greater Cincinnati market and served as District Manager for 13 years.

Henlein received a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Xavier University. He currently serves as one of the founding board members of a new nonprofit start-up opening in May 2012 called the Cincinnati ToolBank, which will enable any nonprofit to loan at no charge a wide variety of tools for their volunteer projects. He is an active member of The American Marketing Association. He also has served as immediate past president for the Cincinnati Chapter of Xavier University’s Alumni, served on Xavier’s National Alumni Board, project advisor for The Marvin Lewis Foundation, was a member of Home Depot’s National Council on volunteerism and strategic philanthropy as well as serving on the National Board of Directors for Home Depot’s PAC efforts in Washington, D.C.
