Assessment will focus on number of posts, accuracy and detail.
Assessment Summary
The project will start with a KWL chart. This will be used to help eliminate misconceptions about the Middle Ages before we begin to investigate the era. We will also use the chart to help self-reflect on learning and to write down concepts gained throughout the project. Student feedback rubrics will be used so I can better assess how much work each student put into their groups project. The video will be created as a group and will allow the students the freedom to choose what type of presentation they want to create. For example, they could make a commercial for a vacation on a Manor or a newscast interviewing different members from a local manor. No matter where they go, they will need to meet all the criteria listed in the directions. They will also have access to the grading rubric to provide even greater direction. The blogging aspect will require the students to take on a specific role from Medieval Life and answer a different prompt every day. They will also have to respond to three prompts throughout the project. There will be a grading rubric for this assignment that reflects their ability to reflect accurate thoughts and ideas from the time period.
