Stories fromthe Tanke

  • UTA is starting its first blog all about service stations
  • You can find stories, pictures and insider info at stories-from-the-tanke.de

Kleinostheim – 06 April 2017. UNION TANK Eckstein GmbH & Co. KG (UTA) is expanding its social media presence: After Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and the business platforms Xing and LinkedIn, the fuel and service card provider now also has a blog: 'Stories from the service stations'. At stories-from-the-tanke.de, customers, partners and other interested parties can find entries on the history of the service station and are given exclusive insights into the everyday working life of operators, their staff and their customers.

For some, they are meetings places, and for others they stand for boundless mobility: The new UTA blog not only takes users on a nostalgic journey through the story of the service station, it also provides a fascinating glimpse behind the scenes of the business. After all, over the years they have developed from a simple pump by the side of the road to large-scale stations that sell fuel as well as a wide range of snacks, drinks and magazines. The stories the service station employees and visitors tell are as diverse as this product range.

"We will visit Germany's service stations to talk to the people there and to tell their stories", says Stefan Horst, head of marketing at UTA and campaign manager. We will not only focus on particularly odd stories, but also on the people who have experienced them. "We also want to include international service stations, and we call on the support of long-distance drivers, who we kindly ask to send us pictures." The entertaining content will also include surveys and exclusive competitions.
