Goal: Students will develop increased achievement in reading comprehension.

Literacy Plan for 2015/2016

Strategies
1. Teachers will develop an understanding of culturally responsive teaching practices in reading.
2. In PLCs, teachers will explore class and grade level assessments to gather evidence of student learning and progress and then use this information to inform instruction.
3. Teachers will provide students with opportunities to read and ask relevant comprehension questions to peers during Reader’s Workshop.

Mathematics

Strategies:
1.  Teachers will use effective questioning strategies to assess students and promote meaningful student talk around number sense concepts.
2.  To further develop our understanding of curriculum as it relates to Number Sense.
3.  Teachers will provide increased opportunities for students to share their math reasoning and communication (such as shared writing, anchor charts, journals, etc.).
