The 2010 Municipal Awards – Nomination Deadline March 19, 2010

The 2010 Municipal Awards nomination deadline is fast approaching and your municipality could be a selected as a winner at this year’s Awards Luncheon. This program is a great way for municipalities to create community pride, foster relationships and regional partnerships to improve service delivery and capacity for ratepayers. Community Airport Partnership (CAP) Program 2010-2011 – Deadline March 15, 2010

The CAP is an infrastructure program designed to rehabilitate and upgrade the network of strategic regional community airports in Southern Saskatchewan. The objective is to provide eligible airports with financial assistance for capital improvements of airport infrastructure. For more information on the program, please click here.

Provincial Public Safety Telecommunications System (PPSTN)

The Ministry of Corrections, Public Safety and Policing recently released information on the public safety radio system that will be replacing FleetNet. For information on this new system, please check out www.cpsp.gov.sk.ca/ppstn.

The Greening of Main Street: $300,000 in funding available immediately for municipalities

TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, through its TD Green Streets program, will award 20 communities with grants for planting and maintaining trees this year. For more information on the program, please click here.

Using your Gas Tax Dollars to Comply with PSAB 3150

The Institute of Public Administration of Canada is looking for nominations for the 2010 Vanier Medal. The Vanier Medal, established in 1962, is awarded annually as a mark of distinction and excellence to a person who has made an outstanding contribution to public administration or public service in Canada.
