1 / 12/1/11 / Parys Avenue
Garages – Broken doors. Entrance barrier required.
(Supporting pictures have been lodged with the Area Committee Support Officer) / LBC
Housing Department / Sarah Markham / A project is currently being undertaken to review all Housing‘s garage sites and to devise a strategy for their future use. This project is being led by Sue Doyle in Housing. The site at Parys Road is part of this review. This site has been identified as one of the priority garage sites for action. (Sarah Markham)
11/6/12 / Young people congregating in the open garages. This is a regular occurrence. Chatting and smoking, grave concerns as there are fly-tips in these garages and it’s an arson hazard. There is a small alleyway at the side of No: 2. Parys Road which is overgrown with weeds and often attracts groups of young people. It needs cutting back and that some strong weed killer would address the issue. / LBC
Housing Department / Sarah Markham
Sue Doyle / The Housing ASB team are aware of a group of youths causing ASB in this area, although not specifically in this garage site. We are working with the Corporate ASB Team as this includes non-Housing properties. Now we are aware of this issue, the work being carried out to resolve the problems with ASB have been extended to include the garage site.
In addition to this, Housing are looking at gating this garage site to improve its security.
The alleyway at the side of 2 Parys Road has been checked and this is Housing owned land. A request has gone to Parks for this to be cleared.

17/10/13 / . / A gate has been on the site and now awaitng the installation of a light at the entrance / LBC
Housing Division
BTS / Innes Griggs / Housing has installed a gate on the site as a local project but there is no electricity to the garage site to enable a light to be installed. Supplying power to the site would be extremely difficult and very expensive, and may not even be possible as there is no local Housing supply
(Sarah Markham Area Housing Manager Feb 2014)
6/3/14 / The area has not been gated. / LBC
Housing Division / Sarah Markham / I am confused as I have been informed that the site has been secured under a panel project. I will ask the new GHO to visit again to clarify.

Can we look at imposing a weight restriction in Grosvenor Road, restricting HGV vehicles? / LBC
Engineering & Highways / Stuart Jackson / We would require more evidence to show the numbers of HGV’s and their origin and destination (or operator details) before considering restrictions.
