1LT Craig T. Brechler is a native of Henderson, Nevada. He graduated from high school in 2000 and enlisted in the Air Force in 2001 as a Structural Craftsman. While serving in the Air Force, 1LT Brechler completed his Associates Degree from the Community College of the Air Force in 2006 and a Bachelor’s Degree from Wayland Baptist University in 2008. He then separated from the Air Force to join the Army and attend Officer Candidate School.
Upon completion of OCS in 2008, 1LT Brechler commissioned into the Military Intelligence Branch. He was then assigned to HHC BDE 4/25ABCT, deployed to Afghanistan, and soon after attached to 2-377th PFAR, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. From 2009-2011, he served as an Intelligence Officer at the 4/25 BDE Headquarters and as the Assistant S2 then the Battalion S2. In 2011, he was selected to serve as the Executive Officer of A Company, Warrior Transition Battalion-Alaska.
1LT Brechler’s military education includes: Officer Candidate School, Basic Officer Leaders Course, Military Intelligence Basic Officer Leaders Course, Airborne School, Signals Intelligence/Electronic Warfare Officers Course, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Course, and the Basic Computer Network Operations Planners Course.
1LT Brechler’s awards and decorations include: the Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Air Force Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Service Defense Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2BS), Iraq Campaign Medal (2BS), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon (Gold Border, 1 OLC), Air Force Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon, NATO ISAF Ribbon, Army Valorous Unit Citation Award, Army Meritorious Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Award (1OLC), the Air Force Outstanding Unit Ward (V device, 2OLC) and the Parachutist badge.
