Position: Educational Designer
Responsible to:Manager Education
POSITION SUMMARY
The Educational Designer will work closely with Family Planning NSW educators to developand maintain a high quality learning management system (LMS), and continuous quality improvement of Family Planning NSW educational programs. They will work closely with the Manager of Education and a team of professionals from medical, nursing, and disability and teacher education.
The Educational Designer will ensure sound adult education teaching and learning strategies are used to guide best practice in the use of the material in the targeted environment, advising on optimum learning resource development including e-Learning.
Additionally, the Education Designer will develop and maintain the Moodle environment.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- A tertiary qualification and relevant experience in educational design or the broader field of education
- Extensive successful experience in planning, designing and implementing curriculum for accredited education and training programs
- Demonstrated experience in the design, development and delivery of resources and e-Learning and Moodle
- Demonstrated experience in Moodle systems management
- Heightened capacity to work cooperatively with professional content experts in the planning, development and implementation of curriculum and educational resources for specific programs
- Demonstrated ability with authorising software such as Articulate
MAIN DUTIES
- Systems management of Moodle including creation enrolment, payment procedures
- Working with internal staff and external contractors to project manage the integration of Moodle and other software
- Manage online courses and user accounts
- Proactively prepare Moodle courses in anticipation of upcoming programs, providing suitable access to content experts
- Support colleagues, external partners and learners in the effective use of e-Learning
- Assist in the development and design of e-Learning using Moodle and Articulate
- Prepare a style and user guide for Moodle
- Proofread existing course documents, and review course administrative areas for suitability, including maintaining a consistent look and feel across our courses.
