Dear Parent/Carer,
Welcome to May.
Our Unicef Rights Article of the month is:
Article 15
Every child has the right to meet with other children and join groups and organisations, as long as this does not stop other people from enjoying their rights.
Well done and thanks to:
- Everyone who supported the Book Fair:Well done to Ms Kane, and all our helpers. We sold over £1300 in books which raised £780 in free books for the school.
- All parents and carers who came to our class workshops in P1a,P1b, P1c P3/2. They were very well attended. Congratulations to the children who put on such great presentations of learning.
- Primary 2b and 2c for their Dinosaur Café...it was bursting at the seams....hope you had a great time and thank you for all your contributions. Your children showed great work skills!
- Primary 4s held a fantastic Easter/Spring Assembly, again very well attended.

Tuesday 12th May pm
P3/2 will be visiting the Tall Ship on to take part in a Pirate workshop. The children will participate in a lively session with costumed pirates, including swashbuckling pirate fun, songs and dressing up followed by a hunt around the ship to find Captain Scallywag’s treasure!

Thursday 14th May
P3/2 will be taking their Numeracy learning outdoors and will be doing a traffic survey on Brockburn Road on. The children will have to create a tally chart to record their findings and then create a bar graph using their tally charts.

We have established a new Parent Council:
Chair ~ Ray Goodall, (P5 and P6 Pupils)
Secretary ~ Tracy Roberts( P2 Pupil)
Treasurer ~ Elaine Leitner ( P3 Pupil)
Some of our existing parents have agreed to continue to attend meetings and we have many parents who are willing to support. We hope to send you a photo of these new members so that you know who to meet and greet. They will produce a PC newsletter and get it online.
I will send a separate message about classes and staffing as soon as I can.
