High School Students Explore High Tech Careers at “Avenues of Innovation” on October 26

Rancho Santiago CCD Collaborates in OC Innovation Week

What Avenues in Innovation will expose area high school students to careers in innovative industries, including digital media. Rancho Santiago Community College District’s (RSCCD) presentation featuring Santa Ana College professor Dr. Sharon Brown will introduce students to how digital media technology is used in a brand identity campaign. Students will get a sneak peak at the programs and services that will be offered at RSCCD’s Digital Media Center (DMC), set to open in Spring 2006 in Santa Ana. Through its innovative Student Works program, students will gain real world experience working on projects for the businesses that will be housed in the DMC’s business incubator.

The event also features presentations and displays about advanced transportation technology, animation, rapid prototype additive manufacturing, geospatial, biotechnology and biomed and infromatics. Attendees will travel through a series of breakout sessions, hear an overview of a career field, see an interactive presentation and walk away with career pathway and job outlook information.
