Dance Works of Troy will be having it’s first in studio Workshop Performance on Saturday May 12th at 4:00 PM This is an exciting time of the year when our students get to show their families and friends what they have been working on all year and how much they have improved. Rehearsals have begun and the students are working hard.This will be the first time we have performed in our studio space and the performance will be small but the student’s and the faculty are eagerly looking forward to it.
Costume needs
Performing in studio will be different for all of us. One advantage to this is having a more conservatory approach to the ballets and the costuming. We requested a certain color leotard at the beginning of the year based on division level, we are continuing that theme in our performance and request that you purchase the matching skirt for your child’s division.The skirts are the Mirella Childs Chiffon Skirt Style MS12CH or the Mirella S12 Adult Chiffon Wrap.

If they don’t have your childs size get the next largest size available
Boys Shirts have been purchased and will cost $20.00per shirt.
Female students will need clean pink tights with no holes, clean pink ballet shoes, hair supplies to make a performance bun and performance makeup.
Male dancers will need clean black tights footed with no holes, a belt not to exceed 1” in width, thin all white socks and clean white shoes, performance makeup and possibly hair spary.
We will talk more about the students performance needs but if you have questions feel free to stop at the desk after class.
Snow day make up classes
We will be holding a make-up class on Wednesday Feb. 21st for Div. 2 and 3 at their regular times. This is to make-up classes for Feb. 7th when we closed due to inclement weatherNew Beginner Ballet class
Dance Works has started a brand new Beginner Ballet class on Tues. for children between the ages of 7-13. If you or someone you know has always wanted to learn the beautiful dance form of classical ballet this would be the class to take. We start at the beginning and move slowly through the movements explaining as we go. If interested call the studio at 518 805-8008
Winter Break Feb 19-24th
There will be no Division classes the week of Feb.19-24th. With the exception of the make-up class on Wed Feb 21st.
There will be Open Classes on a shortened schedule.
There will be:
Open Ballet classes on Mon. and Wed. 6:-7:30 and Fri. 12:30-2:00
