GETTING STARTED AND PREPARING FOR YOUR TRAINING SHOW
Here is some information on how to prepare for your Training show, getting yourself organized and explaining what to do next.
*INVITATIONS
You can find sample training show invitations on our website and Premier’s website or you can make up your own.
For all your shows, you will send out all of your hostess’ invitations for them. Invitations should go out 8-10 days in advance and you will find various kinds of invitations that you can use on our website www.pdjeweler.com as well as tons of great training tools. For each show you will modify the information on each invitation such as the hostess name, address, show date, etc. Once you’ve printed them, all you need to do is put the labels on them (the top sheet of the guest list is the label). You tear off, moisten and stick in the middle of the invitation. Put a stamp on each one and your return address in the upper left hand corner and mail. Invitations always go out 7-10 days in advance.
JEWELER WEBSITE
Once you have your Jeweler # you can get on Premier’s website www.premierdesigns.com set up your Jeweler sign-in [it steps you through that] and check out the website. It is AWESOME!!
CHECKING ACCOUNT & CREDIT CARD:
You’ll need to either open a new checking account (you do not need a IRN number or a vender’s license) just a regular checking account that’s in your name only or designate a checking account that you may have all ready that’s in your name only along with a credit card that you use only for your Premier business to help keep things organized and separate for tax purposes.
PROPAY
To accept credit cards, you will need to go to PROPAY. Once you get on the Jeweler’s site, scroll down and you’ll find a green and white rectangle called PROPAY. You do not have to accept credit cards but there is a definite correlation between high sales and accepting credit cards. Should you decide you want to accept credit cards, click on Propay and follow the prompts to sign-up. You can put the $39.95 on whatever credit card you are going to use for your Premier Business. Keep in mind; all expenses you incur are tax deductions for your business. If you have any questions on this, give me a call.
SCARVES
Scarves are a great way to increase your retail. You do not have to use them, they are an option. I highly recommend them as they do increase your retail. When a customer spends $50 or more, they get a free scarf. They love that! The scarves are regularly $20 and $30 a piece and they are awesome! As jewelers, we get them at a great price, anywhere from $1.00 - $2.00 a piece! You can order your scarves on the Premier Jeweler website by going to Premier Incentives and setting up an account. That’s where you can order bracelets and such for your give aways. These items can be put on your Premier card and with a $50 order or more, you don’t pay any shipping and you get a point for every dollar you put on your Premier card!! YIPPEE!
BOOKINGS
You want to start asking for bookings right away. When you have 6 booked and dated within the first 60 days after your training show BEFORE I come, I’ll bring you a package of catalogs! That will save you from having a place an order right away!!
When the people that booked a show for you come to your Training show and bring their guests lists with them, I’ll have a free gift for them! They don’t need our guest list sheets to do that, they can just write all the names, addresses and phone #’s on a piece of paper. Be sure to encourage them to over-invite. They want to invite a minimum of 30 people.
You got in on goal is to shoot for the 9 shows in the first 45 days (should you fall short, you’ll get your 6 shows in and receive a $200 retail certificate) from your training show because you will not only have an awesome start, but the company will send you a $300 retail certificate!
PREPARING FOR TRAINING SHOW
I will be doing your show, but it’s the beginning of your business and we’ll be using your catalogs, your order forms, your hostess packets, etc. that comes in your kit. So you’ll need to have everything ready to go and I will be in close contact with you to help you do that!
HOSTESS PACKETS
To help keep yourself organized once you get your kit, you’ll want to make up 6-9 hostess packets. I take 6 packets with me to each show. When I’m down to 3 in my bag, I put in 3 more so that I have my 6. When my 9 that I’ve made up is down to 3, I make up 6 more so that I have my 9 again to take from to stock my show bag with.
Inside the packets you want to have the following: *2 guest lists that have your name, phone # and email address on them and I highlight the part that tells them to send the top two copies to you. *A self-addressed stamped envelope,*4 outside order forms, *a “Forty Guests in Four minutes” sheet (which you can print off our website) and *a mini opportunity brochure with your name, etc. stamped on the back. If you don’t have your stamp yet, make up some labels that have your name, phone number and email address on them.
If you have questions regarding your hostess packets, just look in the packet I gave you or you can always call me.
CUSTOMER FOLDERS OR CLIP BOARDS
You will need 15 hard, plastic folders. In every folder you’ll put an order form, a wish list and a survey sheet.
TAGGING JEWELRY
As far as tagging your jewelry, in your kit you’ll have labels for all your pieces, all you have to do is put the sticker on the tag and using your safety pins, pin the jewelry tag to each piece.
I REALLY recommend watching the training tape/DVD several times and jotting down ideas. I also recommend going to observe 2-3 shows if possible and taking notes and writing down any questions you might have after the show. Call me and I will tell you who has shows in your area for you to observe. The more shows you watch the more confident and comfortable you will feel doing your own shows. You will also receive some CD’s. I still listen to them because they have ideas and information on them.
If you have questions regarding any of this, don’t be afraid to call or email Rose, Jane or myself from your Premier Family Tree. That’s what we’re here for. We are more than happy to help and love hearing from our new jewelers!
I’m praying for you and your new Premier Business!
