Post Title: Extra Care Manager

(NE, NW&CW, SE&CE, SW)

Business division: Extra Care

Responsible to: Head of Extra Care

Purpose of Post

Working as part of a small Extra Care management team in a defined area, ensure our properties and services meet the demands of residents and commissioning authorities.

Key Tasks

Housing Management

·  Ensure agreed operating protocols are adopted by Housing and Care 21 Court staff and any third parties

·  Optimise lettings performance through effective processing of nominations and allocation panels

·  Ensure any repairs are completed to quality, time and cost expectations; utilising insurance and defect liability routes where possible

·  Engage residents and commissioning authorities in agreeing the service specification and associated charges

·  Proactively address any complaints, ASB or safeguarding issues as per procedures

·  Ensure the arrangements for managing mixed tenures are applied effectively

·  Ensure best practice is shared

People Management

·  Excellent line management of Court Managers / Registered Managers, ensuring they have the skills and tools to do their job effectively

·  Ensuring all policies and procedures are properly trained and published, providing assurance these are being followed correctly

·  Provide support to Managers to take ownership of employment matters, inclusive of recruitment, training, TUPE, grievances etc.

Care and Support Service Development

·  Be clear about the arrangements for delivery of planned and emergency care, and the form of housing related support also provided

·  Support the Head of Extra Care in developing and implementing the preferred model of service

·  Support the introduction of systems to help manage the roster, invoicing and salary payments; reducing the administrative burden and transaction costs

·  Giving the Registered Manager more support to take ownership for quality (including recruitment, training and supervision)

·  Seeking CQC / CSSIW compliance rating of Good as a minimum

Financial Management

·  Responsible for informing revenue budgets and delivering these through close scrutiny of agreed performance indicators (e.g. lettings, repairs, carer turnover etc.)

·  Engaging residents in determining services and charges, ensuring the Service Charge budget is understood and accounts are accurate

·  Oversight of rent setting, market pricing (shared ownership) and service charges to ensure Extra Care is affordable and considered good value for money

Special Circumstances

This post can be mobile or based in a Court / Office within the defined area.

A list of Extra Care Courts per area are available. Areas are defined under North East, North West and Central West, South East and Central East, South West

There will be some national travel for management team meetings. A full driving licence is required.

·  Business, Housing or Social Care management qualification
