Welcome to TradeWorld’s Online Tutorial:

The following notes have been prepared to assist you in navigating TradeWorld’s SA Trade website. For full training and demonstration of the Website, please contact our Client Care Department on (011) 602-7400 and book an appointment to attend one of our bi-monthly sessions.

Selecting Site
  • Once linked to the internet, go to:
  • Click on “SA Trade”

Important
  • Various levels of information are available to the user, depending on whether he registers for free, or subscribes to specific paid products.

FREE Access (After REGISTRATION)

You are able to register as a guest on the website for free.

FREE Guest Registration Provides Access to:

  • Make use of the first level of information of the Business Basics guide;
  • Access online local and international business directories;
  • Receive the Daily Brief.
How to Register as a Guest
  • Click “Register here as a GUEST” on the left hand “Login” navigation bar;
  • The next page will provide fields for your e-mail address, and ask you to provide a password that you will need to access the free areas of the website (make a note of this password for future use);
  • Complete these fields and click “Continue”.

  • The next page will ask for your company contact information, complete and click “Continue”;
  • The next page will confirm that your registration was successful.
  • For further information regarding TradeWorld’s Subscription based products, click “Continue”; OR
  • Use the left hand “SA Trade” navigation bar to access the free areas of the website.
Business Basics (Level 1)

Registered guests are able to access the first level of information under the Business Basics guide. Full access is available after paid subscription to one of TradeWorld’s Leads & Tenders products.

  • After logging in your Guest Registration Username and Password, click “Business Basics” on the left hand navigation bar;
  • The main index of Business Basics opens up;

  • The Business Basics guide is divided into three steps, each step has it’s own sub-index of information;

  • Navigate this guide by using the main index page (available by clicking “Business Basics” on the left hand navigation bar) and the “Previous” and “Next” buttons at the bottom of each page.

Local Business Directory
  • Locate the local business directory (provided by Brabys), by clicking “Trade Directory”, and then “Local Directory” on the left hand navigation bar;
  • Brabys Red Index will open up in a new window.

Daily Brief

When you registered as a guest, you will have selected whether you wish to receive the Daily Brief – a daily electronic newsletter containing highlights of daily news articles, forex rates, business information and updates of TradeWorld activities. If you opted to receive the Daily Brief, it will be delivered to your Inbox every working day of the year!

PAID Access (After SUBSCRIPTION)

After subscribing to TradeWorld’s Leads & Tenders product, you will have full access to the website:

Full Subscription Provides Access to:

  • TradeWorld Leads & Tenders;
  • Levels 1 & 2 of the Business Basics guide;
  • News and Research components.
Logging On
  • Once linked to the internet, go to:
  • Click on “SA Trade”;
  • Enter your username and password into the Login Box on the left hand side of the page. (Your username and password appears on your welcome letter and should have been supplied to you via e-mail or by your TradeWorld sales representative)
  • Click “Login”.

Leads and Tenders
  • The first section of information provides you with a report for the current month, giving you the number of enquiries per week, and per recent day, which have been matched to your specified commodity profile;
  • These can be viewed separately by clicking on either “Last Week” (for last week’s tenders), “Yesterday” (for yesterday’s tenders), “Today” (for today’s tenders) and “This Week” (for all tenders received for the current week).

  • After selecting the batch of enquiries you want to view, the website will bring up a schedule of tenders, which are viewable separately (Click on “Quick View”), or collectively (Click on “View / Print All).

  • Select the tenders you wish to view (if not all) by checking the box next to the enquiry and then click on “View / Print Selected”.
  • The tender/s will then appear on your screen. Each enquiry follows the same format. You will be provided with the Buyer’s name, their contact details, when the enquiry expires, where the delivery point is and to which commodities it has been matched.
  • Under the “Details” section, you will be notified of what action to take: There may be documentation to collect, site meetings to attend, people to contact, or quotations to be submitted.

Quoting Back Online:

If there is a blue button labeled “Quote Back”, you are able to quote back online.

  • Please Note: Sometimes the enquiry may ask you to quote back via fax on a TradeWorld Quote Form – this is only for subscribers who do not have Internet access and are using our fax service; you are still able to quote back online.

The Enquiry

  • The system will pull through all of the information from the enquiry, as well as your contact details (These can be edited under “My Details” further down the landing page). Simply complete the quote and click “Submit Quote”.
  • Your quote will then be forwarded directly to the relevant buyer.
  • This is all done in a secure environment so your quotation is kept confidential.

SkyNet Tender Collection Service:

As a value added service to subscribers, TradeWorld is proud to announce its Tender Collect & Tender Return Service - in partnership with SkyNet Worldwide Express, voted the ‘Top Domestic and International Courier Company in South Africa’. Should you be unable to collect documentation yourself, SkyNet will collect and deliver it to you at a reduced rate.

The service offerings include:

  • Tender Collection

A “counter-to-desk” service, whereby Skynet Worldwide Express pays a deposit on your behalf (if required), collects the tender documentation from the relevant location, whether it be from the various tender boards, mining houses, or private institutions and delivers it straight to your desk;

  • Tender Return

This service includes a pro-active call from SkyNet 48-hours prior to the submission date of the tender, arrangement for the collection of the completed documentation from your desk and returning of the documentation straight to the tender box on your behalf, by the specified deadline;

  • Simply click on the red bar at the bottom of the enquiry and complete the collection request. Contact Yolanda Muller at SkyNet on or phone on 011 571-4881.

Submitted Quotes:

  • This section of information allows you to track any quotations you may have submitted online. Bear in mind that you cannot respond to all enquiries online, however each enquiry will provide you with the relevant instruction.

  • This section will reflect any orders received via the system

Quotes Report Screen

Advanced Searches:

  • Click on “Advanced Enquiry Search” to run parallel searches on the database. Enquiries can be run by entering a keyword (Detailed Description Section); by standard TradeWorld category (Product Category); Product Name; Dates; Buyer’s Name and Province; or for a combination of these.

  • Once you have run an enquiry, the results will appear in the same format as the schedule for the “Leads and Tenders”; - See Page 12 - Schedule of Categorised Leads / Enquiries Screen (and are viewable in the same manner).

Extras:

  • This section provides you with Tender Results (searchable by Buyer, Reference Number and Closing Date), RFQ / Enquiry Results (searchable by the same criteria as for formal tenders), Tender Prices (gives the results of previous tenders and their pricing), and the Tender Diary.

My Details:

  • This section contains your specific company information. The biographical data can be maintained by clicking “Company Info”.
  • “Delivery Method” determines how you receive the information, i.e. fax or e-mail.
  • “Product Category Allocation” holds the information for which commodities you are listed in order to receive tenders and enquiries (these can also be amended online).

Removing Current Product Categories

  • Click the drop-down arrow next to the “Edit Your Categories” box. A list of categories will appear in the box. By selecting one category and clicking “Submit”, a further list of sub-commodities pertaining to that main category will appear.

  • Click the check boxes next to the categories you wish to remove within each category, and click “Submit” at the bottom of the page. This will send our administrators an e-mail advising them to amend your profile.

Adding New Product Categories

This can be done in two ways:

  • By typing a keyword into the “Search by typing a category name” box. Typing a keyword instructs the database pulls through all commodities with this word in the text. (E.g. “computer” will bring up commodities like “computer cables”, “computer programming”, “computer paper”, “computer hardware”, etc). Click the check boxes next to the categories you wish to add and click “Submit” at the bottom of the page. This will send our administrators an e-mail advising them to amend your profile.

  • By searching an entire category by clicking the drop-down arrow and then “Submit”, the database pulls through all commodities linked to this category. (See “Appliances Domestic & Industrial” example below). Click the check boxes next to the categories you wish to add and click “Submit” at the bottom of the page. This will send our administrators an e-mail advising them to amend your profile.
