Dr. Sanders: Hello everyone, this is Dr. Sanders, Chief Executive Officer and Superintended for Sandusky City Schools, and I’m here today at Mills Elementary School with two outstanding students. To my left, is Isabelle, who is in the 5th grade, and to my right is De’Quan and he is in the 4th grade. So I have two questions to ask them this morning before we get started with our February 2018 News Streak announcements and that question is what is your favorite subject, and what do you want to be when you grow up? We will start with Isabelle.
Isabelle: My favorite subject is social studies and I want to be a nurse when I grow up.
Dr. Sanders: Very good, ok De’Quan, what about you?
De’Quan: My favorite subject is math and I want to be a Major League Baseball player when I grow up.
Dr. Sanders: Ok, we have a nurse and a Major League Baseball player, so if you get hurt you have a nurse classmate here will be able to take care of you. Well, we’re excited to be here at Mills with Isabelle and De’Quan and we’re going to get started with our February 2018 News Streak announcements and we will start with De’Quan.
De’Quan: The Ontario Elementary Super Bowl Sundae Party will take place on Friday, February 2nd.
Isabelle: There will be No School on Wednesday, February 6th due to a Waiver Day for district faculty and staff.
Dr. Sanders: Sandusky Middle School will host a Family Connection Night on Literacy on Thursday, February 8th. It will be held in the Sandusky High School Cafeteria starting at 6:00 pm. All middle school students and parents are encouraged to attend.
De’Quan: ACT Testing will be held at Sandusky High School beginning at 8:00 am on Saturday, February 10th.
Isabelle: The Sandusky Middle School Valentine Dance will be held in the Sandusky High School Cafeteria at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, February 13th.
Dr. Sanders: College Credit Plus Night will be hosted in Room 300 at Sandusky High School on Wednesday, February 14th. It will begin at 6:00 pm.
De’Quan: Friday, February 16th marks the Quarter III Mid-term. Also that day, Hancock Elementary will host their Reading & Math Round-up with Parents for students in grades 3-6.
Isabelle: The Ohio Music Education Association will host the High School Honors Festival at Port Clinton High School on Saturday, February 17th.
Dr. Sanders: There will be No School on Monday, everybody is glad to hear that, Monday, February 19th in observance of President’s Day.
De’Quan: The annual Blues in the Night concert will be held on Tuesday, February 20th in the Sandusky High School Auditorium beginning at 7:00 pm.
Isabelle: An Orchestra concert for students in grades 7-12 will be held on Thursday, February 22nd in the Sandusky High School Auditorium beginning at 7:00 pm.
Dr. Sanders: The Sandusky High School Band Contest Concert will be hosted in the Sandusky High School Auditorium on Monday, February 26th at 7:00 pm.
De’Quan: Sandusky High School will be hosting a Blood Drive in the gymnasium on Tuesday, February 27th beginning at 9:00 am.
Isabelle: The Midwinter Choral Concert will be held in the Sandusky High School Auditorium on Thursday, February 28th beginning at 7:00 pm.
Dr. Sanders: Well as you can see folks, we have a lot things going on here in February, right in the middle of our winter months and our new semester starting, and I’m delighted to be here at Mills today, and we have two of our most outstanding readers I think I’ve had in a long time. So, Isabelle and De’Quan, you’ve done a super job!
