Position Title: Chorus & Volunteer Coordinator for One Voice Mixed Chorus
Position Description: To coordinate office and organizational data, rehearsaland front-of-house operations, recruit and manage volunteers. Full job description at www.ovmc.org/get-involved.html.
Skills Needed: Office and database management and creating reports (E-tapestry experience preferred), ability to manage significant detail, electronic mediums (Word, Excel, Outlook, internet and intranet systems). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to motivate and coordinate volunteers.
Time commitment: Half-time position. Primarily daytime hours and may require some evenings and weekends.
Mission: One Voice Mixed Chorus is Minnesota’s gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and allied community chorus with a mission of “building community and creating social change by raising our voices in song.”

Background
For 23 years One Voice Mixed Chorus has united gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender people and straight allies in working for social change. One Voice is known for its musical excellence, diverse repertoire, humor, and strong commitment to community outreach. One Voice’s 80 singing members span ages 17 to 70, and its “Fifth Section” boasts more than 40 non-singing volunteers. Together, they dedicate their time and energy to the One Voice mission: “Building community and creating social change by raising our voices in song.” One Voice has performed for thousands of people in the Twin Cities, greater Minnesota and beyond.

One Voice Mixed Chorus
Position Title: CHORUS & VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

Purpose of Position: To coordinate office and organizational data, rehearsaland front-of-house operations, recruit and manage volunteers.
Time Commitment: .5 FTE position. Flexible hours, Monday evening rehearsals
Responsibilities:
1. Promote One Voice Mixed Chorus’ focus on its mission. (5%)
· Facilitate the work associated with One Voice fulfilling its mission.
· Collaborate with the Chorus, the Board, staff and volunteers to promote a positive atmosphere of community within the organization.
2. Manage organizational operations (60%)
· Maintain, edit and update E-tapestry database. Build and generate reports. Manage data maintenance for Patron Mail.
· Track donations, mail donor pledge reminders and thank-you letters.
· Track invitations, attendance and entry of data contacts for concerts and events.
· Manage organizational archives and photographs.
· Maintain files for legal documents, board minutes, organizational records, grants, and human resources information.
3. Recruit, train, and recognize chorus volunteers (20%)
· Recruit, schedule and manage the work of office volunteers.
· Recruit and manage Fifth Section volunteers for event tasks and committee roles.
· Maintain a tracking system of board and committee members. Forward information regarding relevant training workshops to committee chairs, staff and board members.
· Coordinate volunteer recognition for all organizational volunteers.
· Manage funds allocated in the budgets for volunteer training, retention and recognition.
4. Facilitate communication of chorus business needs (10%)
· Manage chorus phone, e-mail, voice mail and snail mail.
· Manage organizational calendars (Google calendars and printed calendar).
· Serve as staff liaison to Membership & Diversity Committee and work with them to coordinate auditions.
· Coordinate volunteer who composes weekly chorus newsletter.
· Coordinate the duplication and distribution concert recordings.
· Serve as liaison to Unity Unitarian (scheduling space, troubleshooting space issues).
5. Manage front of house details for concerts and events (5%)
· Coordinate and troubleshoot ticket sales and delivery procedures with Ticket Manager.
· Coordinate system for tracking comp tickets and voucher codes and ticketing details.
· Coordinate chorus ushers and other front-of-house volunteers for concerts and events
6. Participate in professional development
· Participate in professional organizations that promote the mission of the chorus.
· Maintain and update professional competence by attending workshops, classes and conferences.
Regular commitments/meetings:
a. Weekly staff meeting
b. Major concerts and occasional community outreach performances
c. Monday night rehearsals
d. Regular communication with Membership Diversity Committee.
Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
ü Commitment to the mission of One Voice Mixed Chorus.
ü Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage and prioritize a significant level of detail.
ü Skills in computer database management and creating reports (E-Tapestry preferred).
ü Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading.
ü An ability to work within electronic mediums: word processing, e-mail, internet and intranet.
ü Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
ü Flexibility in working with a diverse group of volunteers and personalities.
ü Demonstrated knowledge of effective volunteer management and experience coordinating volunteers within a non-profit setting.
