Students will observe animals meeting their needs.

Students will explain that animals need food, water, air, and shelter to live.

Students will focus on four things all animals need to live.

Day 2 Read: Animal Groups

Lesson 3----How can we group animals? (3 days)

Students will classify animals into groups based on observable characteristics.

Students will identify physical characteristics of animals and their functions.

Students will focus on main idea and details for each animal group.

Students will compare animals to see how they are similar, but not identical, to their parents.
