Culminating Activity Unit One: Preparing for Parenthood

“Are You Ready to Parent?”

Scenario:

Congratulations! You have been asked to create an awareness advertisement for teens who are thinking about having children. Your task is to inform and give advice to a group of your peers about the important considerations that a prospective parent must understand.

Instructions:

You will use any course material presented in this unit to complete your task. Your title will be something like this: what you need to know before you become a parent. You should present your audience with facts, questions, statistics and/or stories from class that you think are important.

You will present your information using ONE (1) of the following formats:

-  Poster (large enough to have five sections with text and pictures)

-  Brochure (one page folded into 6 sections)

-  PowerPoint (8-12 Slides including title slide and graphics)

Series of Paragraphs (at least five paragraphs, typed, double-spaced)
