The Victorian Deaf Education Institute (VDEI) enables excellence in deaf education throughout Victoria. Through VDEI, the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development is committed to maximising educational outcomes for deaf and hard of hearing children and young people from birth to adulthood.

This $25,000 competitive open sector research grant supports research projects that lead to improved educational outcomes for deaf or hard of hearing children living in Victoria. Chief investigators must be employed in a Victorian organisation that has an established ethics committee.

Deliverables: Written report, including executive summary and key recommendations for future research; in-person presentation of findings (at VDEI) and a web-based presentation of findings by July 2016.

Applications close 15 December 2014, with applicants notified and grant payment in early 2015.
