NEWEST STATE FAIR MUST SEE: THE RISING STAR STAGE
SPRINGFIELD, IL –There’s a new home for night-time entertainment at the Illinois State Fair – It’s called The Rising Star Stage! Located near Gate 2 on Central Avenue, between the Fair Manager’s house and the Dairy Building, this new free entertainment stage will feature contests and game shows by day and FREE music concerts by night.
“This year there was a big push to bring in new performers and new ideas to the 2017 Illinois State Fair,” said State Fair Manager Kevin Gordon. “This year we will have 48 new musical acts, outside of the Grandstand, many of them featured on the Rising Star Stage.”
Fairgoers are encouraged to check out the Rising Star Stage each night at 5:00pm to catch a FREE performance by an up-and-coming artist. This hour long concert will feature big names such as Ashley McBryde, Chris Cavanaugh, Through Fire, just to name a few. Then, when the sun goes down, this new stage becomes one big party as well-known bands like the Boat Drunks perform.
The Rising Star Stage is also the home of several new game shows, such as the Illinois State Fair Newlywed Game, Beat the DJ, and be sure to check out our new Competitive Eating Challenge.
