Director ITS, Technical and Network Services (2001 – 2014)
Oversaw the evaluation and installation of technologies that enhanced the University’s objective and administrative needs. Directed a team of nine associates focused on maintaining the server, network, voice and cable television infrastructures. Provided troubleshooting initiatives and problem resolution through level II and level III support.
Key Accomplishments:
- Reinforced security of the University’s data and network with mechanical measures and policy best practices.
- Implemented fault tolerant campus-wide servers, private cloud, LAN, WAN and wireless networks, VoIP telephone system and streaming media systems to support efficient and seamless University operations.
- Maintained over 140 Windows, Linux and Solaris servers, PCs and Macs, laptops, mobile devices and computer labs.
- Contributor to multiple University technology planning, strategy and implementation committees.
Assistant Director ITS, Networks and System Support (1999 – 2001)
Analyzed and recommended hardware and software upgrades, including file and application servers, network equipment and collaboration software. Administered budget estimates for multiple upgrade and migration projects.

- Supervised network and server installation and maintenance.
- Identified technology proposals to optimize educational value on the Academic Computing Advisory Committee.
System Programmer/Analyst – VAX (1987 – 1999)
Designed and installed the VAX and Alpha OpenVMS system and VMS clusters. Created the system software to manage over 7,000 accounts on the VAX systems, NT Domain and access servers. Guided a team of student employees.

- Established the University’s first campus-wide WindowsNT domains and servers.
- Initiated the University’s first campus-wide and residential computer networks.
Additional experience as a VAX Systems Manager and Help Desk Coordinator for the University of Hartford, and as the owner of The Pell Programs, a computer programming business from 1985 to 1998.
