PRESS RELEASE

WITH THE ARREST OF ACCUSED KAMAL OF PUL PRAHALADPUR, BLIND CASE OF INNOVA CAR JACKING BEHIND HYATT HOTEL OF PS R.K.PURAM SOLVED.

ACCUSED EARLIER INVOLVED IN MURDER CASE.

INCIDENT:-

Complainant Inderjeet s/o Jassa Nath r/o village Pipri, Raghunath Pur, District Badayun, UP, who is working as a driver with one Shri Mahender Singh brought his guest to Hyatt Regency Hotel on 04.11.2013 and parked his Innova car No.HR 55 M 1577 near Passport Office, R.K.Puram and was waiting for the guest. At about 07:30 PM, 4 persons came there, overpowered him at gun point and took him away alongwith the car. In the way, he was robbed of his purse and mobile phone. He was also assaulted and injured with knife by two persons, sitting on the rear seat and was thrown out of the car near Sector-93, Noida. He sustained knife injuries on different parts of his body and was treated at Trauma Centre, AIIMS. A case FIR No.418/13 dated 05.11.2013 u/s 394/34 PS R.K.Puram was registered and investigation taken up by the local police.

INFORMATION AND OPERATION:-

SER section of Crime Branch is monitoring, developing technical surveillance and intelligence about the heinous/street crimes reported in the SouthEasternRange. As a part of this drive, the Crime Branch officials visited the scene of crime, conducted technical surveillance etc. besides, developing criminal intelligence and interrogation of different criminals with similar modus operandi for prevention and detection of crime. On the basis of the above exercise, accused Kamal s/o Chandeshwer r/o D-545, Pul Prahlad Pur, New Delhi was identified as one of the accused involved in this case. However, his address was found to be fake. As such informers were deployed to locate him.

On 11.11.2013, information was received that accused Kamal, desperado of South Delhi, would come to Gautampuri, Delhi to meet his accomplices. A trap was laid on the service road leading to Gautampuri and Kamal was apprehended.

INTERROGATION:-

On sustained interrogation, it was revealed that Kamal was a hard nut to crack as he has already been previously involved in three criminal cases of murder, planning for dacoity, Arms Act etc. However, after sustained interrogation, accused Kamal revealed that he started moving with pick pockets in buses and during the time spent in jail, he came in contact with other criminals. Off late, he was again arrested and lodged in Tihar Jail for not appearing in the Court. In jail, he came in contact with the co- accused John, who had been released about 2 weeks back from Tihar Jail and has previously been involved in over nine cases of Robbery, Snatching and Arms Act. John in turn roped in his two of his old criminal associates Om Prakash @ Pappi and Bhupender Singh. The trio had earlier been arrested in a similar crime and had been in Jail together.

The four re-grouped and formed a gang and armed themselves with two knives and a country made katta (fire arm). The accused persons threatened the victim at gun point and overpowered him. Accused John took over the driving seat of Innova car, while the victim was pulled down by them towards the rear seat. The complainant was assaulted with knife, when he tried to raise alarm. He was robbed of his belongings, which included his purse containing driving license, cash of Rs.2000/- and a mobile phone and finally thrown out of the Innova car in Baghel area of Noida. Lateron, the above robbed vehicle was sold through accused John for Rs.90,000/-. The remaining accused John, Pappi and Bhupender Singh are still absconding. Efforts are on to arrest them and recover the case property.

Kamal (age 28 years) s/o Chandreshwar r/o D-545, Pul Prahlad Pur,New Delhi is married and has two daughters aged 6 & 8 years. He studied upto 5thstandard in the village. He came to Delhi about 15 years back and worked as domestic help and driver at different places. Due to strong desire for lavish life, he fell in bad company and started pick pocketing in the buses with his other associates. He has been previously involved/arrested at least in 3 criminal cases of murder, planning for dacoity & Arms Act etc.

Traffic Advisory

Moharram is the first month of the Islamic (Hizri Calendar). The 10th day of this month (Hizri Calendar) is observed as Martyrdom Day of Hazrat Imam Hussain (the grand son of Prophet Mohammad). This year "Moharram” will be observed in the Capital on 15/11/2013. On 14/11/2013, Shia Muslims would observe Shab-E-Shahadat from 2100 hrs. onwards.

On 15/11/2013 from 0900 hours onwards “Alam and Taboot” procession will be taken out from Shia Jama Masjid , Kashmere Gate, Chabi Ganj, Chhota Bazar, Bara Bazar and would terminate at Panja Sharif at around 1600 hrs..

Tazia procession will be taken out on the night of 14-15/11/2013 on the following route:-

AT ABOUT 10.00 PM ON THE NIGHT INTERVENING 14-15/11/2013THE PROCESSION WILL START FROM CHHATTA SHAHZAD, KALAN MAHAL AND PASS THROUGH KAMRA BANGASH – CHITLI QABAR – CHURI WALAN – MATIA MAHAL – JAMA MASJID – CHAURI BAZAR – HAUZ QAZI AND WILL BE TAKEN BACK IN THE REVERSE ROUTE.

The Tazias from Nizamuddin, Okhla and Mehrauli would reach Karbala directly.

Tazia processions will also be taken out in East Distt., North-East Distt. (Trans Yamuna area), North - West Distt., (Inderlok & Jahangirpuri) South East Distt. (Nizamuddin), South Distt and West Distt. and these will terminate at local Karbala’s of the respective Distts.

The procession will reform at 1200 hours on 15/11/2013 and will take the same route and assemble at Kalan Mahal to proceed for Karbala, Jor Bagh, New Delhi through the following route:-

Access to New Delhi Railway Station

Those going to New Delhi Railway Station on 15th November particularly in evening should leave in advance and have sufficient time for possible delay in routes. Reaching to New Delhi Railway Station people should avoid Connaught Place and reach Ajmeri Gate side through Tilak Marg, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg or through Rajghat and Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg depending on movement of procession.

From West Delhi

(ii)When procession reaches R/A Tuglaq Road buses coming from AIIMS side will be diverted under Safdurjung Flyover from INA, terminate and return.

South End /Prithvi Raj Road

AWHEN PROCESSION REACHES R/A GOLE METHI:-

iNo bus will be allowed towards R/A Tuglaq Road.

iiBuses coming on Aurangzeb Road from ‘Q’ point will be diverted to Prithvi Raj Road.

iiiBuses coming on Kamal Ataturk Marg for R/A Tuglaq Road will be diverted to Kautilya Marg – Mother Teresa Crescent – R/A RML Hospital.

BWHEN PROCESSION REACHES R/A TUGLAQ ROAD:-

iBuses will not be allowed to reach Sri Aurobindo Chowk from South End – Prithvi Raj Road but will be diverted towards Maxmullar Marg, Lodhi Road, Bhishma Pitahmah Marg & proceed further to South.

There is likelihood of slowing down and congestion of traffic along the route of the procession. General public and the motorists are advised to avoid the above mentioned routes and co-operate with and follow the directions of the traffic policemen posted all along the route of procession to avoid inconvenience. For uninterrupted journey, commuters may use Metro services.

NAGAR KIRTAN ON THE OCCASION OF BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF

SRI GURU NANAK DEV JI ON 16.11.2013

There will be a procession (NAGAR KIRTAN) on the occasion of birthday of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on 16th November 2013. The procession will start at 1000 hrs. on 16.11.13 from Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib Parade Ground and terminate at Gurdwara Nanak Piao Sahib, G.T.Karnal Road. The route of procession will be as follows:-

ROUTE OF THE PROCESSION

PARADE GROUND: ESPLANDE ROAD : GURUDWARA SIS GANJ SAHIB: CHANDNI CHOWK: FATEHPURI: KHARI BAOLI CHOWK : QUTAB ROAD: AZAD MARKET: ROSHANARA ROAD: GHANTA GHAR : G.T.K. ROAD AND WILL CONCLUDE AT GURUDWARA NANAK PIAO, NEAR RANA PARTAP BAGH : G.T. KARNAL ROAD , DELHI.

Head of procession is expected to reach Gurdwara Nanak Piao at about 6.00 PM & its tail (Swari Sahib) would be reaching there at about midnight.

Road-users at Rani Jhansi Road are advised to avoid this route during the evening time for movement from North to Central and New Delhiareas and vice versa. City buses will be diverted from Rani Jhansi Road, Roshanara Road and G.T.K. Road from 1400 hrs. onwards depending on the position of the procession. G.T.Road from Shakti Nagar Chowk to Ashok Vihar ‘T’ point will remain congested from 2000 hours upto midnight in view of heavy confluence of devotees and dispersal of procession. They are advised to avoid Shakti Nagar Chowk, GT Road and use Ring road, Ashok Vihar Road and Swami Narayan Marg as an alternative passage.

Motorists are advised to follow the directions given by the traffic personnel to ensure smooth movement and to minimize traffic congestion and disruption.

SNATCHERS ARRESTED

The staff of Police Station Nihal Vihar, West District has solved two cases of snatching and robbery by arresting two accused namely Neelu and Ravi. The mobile phone Samsung and one Ranger bicycle have been recovered from their possession.

INCIDENT, TEAM & OPERATION

On 12.11.13 at about 9.00 PM, a PCR call vide DD No. 34-A was received at P.S. Nihal Vihar regarding snatching of Mobile Phone and the same was entrusted to SI Surender Pawar who reached the spot and found complainant Sh. Chandan Kumar Jha S/o Dhirender Jha R/o C-200, Laxmi Park, Nihal Vihar Delhi, who stated that he was going to his home after finishing his job from Shamshan Ghat Road towards Tau Chowk, then after reaching Kumar Diary, three persons on motorcycle splendor plus DL 4 SB P-4553 came and snatched his mobile phone and fled away. He shouted and ran behind them. He immediately made a PCR call. In the meantime, HC Jai Bhagwan No. 2261/W alongwith Ct. Ranjeev No. 3031/W who were on patrolling duty met him on the way. They immediately made him to sit on their motorcycle and started searching the suspected motorcycle involved in committing crime. After painstaking efforts, the staff succeeded in apprehending the two accused namely Neelu and Ravi while one accused Mohd. Shamsad @ Bhadde ran away by jumping from the motorcycle. On their personal search, snatched mobile phone was recovered from the pocket of accused Neelu. A case vide FIR No. 389/13 u/s 356/379/411/34 IPC was registered in PS Nihal Vihar, Delhi and they were arrested in this case.

MODUS OPERANDI AND INTERROGATION

On sustained interrogation they disclosed that they alongwith their associate Mohd. Shamsad @ Bhadde had robbed one person near Shamshan Ghat Road after causing injury on his head and forcibly taken away his red coloured bicycle, his mobile phone and his purse containing Rs. 600/-. In that case, a case FIR No. 367/13 U/s 394/411/34IPC dated was registered on 18.10.2013 at PS Nihal Vihar and investigation was taken up by SI Subedeen. All the accused persons were put on sustained interrogation and robbed bicycle Ranger and one mobile have been recovered.

Efforts are being made to arrest remaining accused Mohd. Shamsad @ Bhadde. Further, investigation is going on.

DUE TO HONESTY OF STAFF OF P.S. LAJPAT NAGAR, LOST GOLD/DIAMOND NECKLACE SET WORTH LACS OF RUPEES RETURNED TO OWNER

The staff of Police Station Lajpat Nagar showed an exemplary sense of honesty and dedication to duty by returning Gold/Diamond set after tracing its owner and handing over the same to her. The incident happened around 08:15 PM yesterday in the Central Market Lajpat Nagar when SHO Ramesh Kumar and ATO AK Singh along with Ct. Rajesh, and Ct. Deshraj were on patrolling in the area. Ct. Rajesh and Ct Deshraj noticed an unclaimed bag lying near a parked car. On checking the bag carefully, a gold/diamond set with ear rings was found in it. Many passerby / shop keepers were enquired to trace owner of the bag but no one claimed to be the owner of the bag. Hence the bag was deposited in the Malkhana of the PS as unclaimed, but the efforts were continued to trace out the owner of the bag. Due to hard work and efforts of the staff the shop of jeweller Dhirsons Lajpat Nagar was identified where the, necklace was got repaired. SHO Ramesh Kumar and ATO A.K.Singh contacted the shopkeeper at his shop. Initially the shop keeper refused to identify the necklace to have been purchased from his shop but on checking the record and enquiry from the workers it was revealed that the necklace was got repaired in the shop by one customer in the evening. The details of the customer was obtained from the shop and she was contacted on her mobile phone and was found to be a resident of South Extention. The customer Mrs.Nalini Chowdhary w/o Sh. Navin Chowdhary r/o A-18, IInd Floor, South Ext. Part-II, New Delhi came to police station Lajpat Nagar and identified her necklace. After verification of customer and necklace the bag containing gold/diamond set has been returned to her.
