Roseville High School Lacrosse Booster Club Meeting Minutes
Attendees: David Marks, Barbara Garbe, Jim Kortum, Jeff Kohoutek, Greg Schaefer, Neal Forest, John Galle and Brian Dall.
Captain’s practices:
Captains practices will be held Friday January 18th - March 29th7:00-9:00pm at the High School in the upper gym. One adult volunteer is required by the high school to supervise the practice. An email will be sent out to request volunteers. Captains practice will be open to all high school and 8th grade students. Coach Jeff will have a practice plan available for the players.
Player Meeting:
A Coach/Player meeting will be held January 28th in the media center at RAHS. Coach Jeff will bring his lap top and have players register with their email addresses and cell phone numbers. Coach Jeff may also bring apparel information for players to start ordering Roseville team apparel.
Parent Meeting:
A parent meeting (March 5th?) will be held before tryouts to give all parents and players information on the upcoming season. Including the idea of asking each player to pay an additional assessment fee to cover additional expenses and items offered throughout the season. An example of this idea: $50 assessment fee from each player and this year a practice penne and shorts will be given to each player. Depending on the cost and the budget, additional items will be purchased each year for the players to help them look more like a team.
Change in teams:
The JV and Varsity team will be run through the High School. The 9/10 team will now be run by the Booster Club. All players will register through the activities office prior to tryouts. Once the teams are picked, the $200 activity fee will be collected. JV and Varsity players will pay the High School. The 9/10 team players will pay the Booster Club. Everything involving the practices and games will still be the same for both teams. The only difference is the Booster Club will take care of the paperwork and finances involved for the 9/10 team.
Youth Lacrosse:
The High school has agreed to let youth players attend the Varsity games for free. Players must wear a Roseville lacrosse jersey and be accompanied by a paying adult.
Youth Lacrosse Day-Saturday May 11th at 3:00pmon the High School turf– Roseville vs. Cooper 7:30pm. Coach Jeff will plan activities for the youth. Possible plan-The High School making t-shirts for the event.
