Evaluation of Students

Evaluation will be based on the assignments, two midterms, and the final, and quizzes. The percentages below represent the approximate weighting for grading:

Assignments / 50%
Class Participation / 0 %
Quizzes / 10%
Midterms / 20 %
Final Exam / 20%

Assignments: Homework is due every Thursday by 11:10am. You do not need to come to class to submit it. You can scan and email it, or drop it off in my office.

Class participation: If you come to class please be respectful. Attendance is recommended for successful completion of this course. Students who regularly miss class usually fail.

Quizzes: Quizzes will be posted on ilearn.sfsu.edu occasionally and will be due either Tuesday or Thursday at the start of class. You must do them in one sitting and not seek the help of anyone or any resource except for your textbook and notes. You can submit them by email or drop them off in my office.

Midterms: There will be two midterms, dates TBA at least two weeks before. Make-up midterms must be requested at least a week before the actual midterm. If you are planning a trip that makes you miss one of my classes, consult me to make sure it does not conflict with the midterms.

Final Exam: This will be cumulative, and you are required to take it. Missing the final means failing class. The final is on Tuesday, May 20th from 10:45am-1:15pm.
