  1. Main areas of responsibility:

The Unit “Nuclear Reactors Safety Assessment” is looking for a dynamic, experienced and motivated scientific officer in the field of Nuclear Power Plants (NPP) Operational Experience Feedback Systems. The job covers collection, communication, and evaluation of reactor operational events information and applying state-of-the–art methods and computer aided tools for assessment of safety significance of selected events and will involve extensive collaboration with European Union national nuclear safety regulatory authorities and their technical support organizations. The successful candidate is also expected to contribute to the development of means to promote and facilitate the implementation of important lessons learned from operational experience at EU NPPs.

  1. Main qualifications:

Candidates should have a degree or equivalent experience, in nuclear engineering or mechanical/industrial engineering or nuclear physics. Knowledge and at least 3 years of proven experience in nuclear engineering and /or regulation of power plants in the following fields are essential: operation of nuclear reactors, nuclear safety assessment. Knowledge of international event reporting systems would be an advantage, as well as of diverse European designs of nuclear power plants. Good communication, sense of initiative and team working capabilities in multicultural environment are essential, as is a very good computer competence.
