TORQEEDO CRUISE FIXED POD NAMED TOP PRODUCT
Boating Industry named Torqeedo's Cruise Fixed Pod motor system a 2017 Top Product. The award honors equipment that impacts the marine industry, demonstrates innovation and advances a product category.
This is the fourth industry recognition for Torqeedo's newest product. The lightweight and ultra-efficient Cruise Fixed Pod system was named Overall Winner at the 2016 DAME Awards in November. It was also honored with a SAIL Magazine Pittman Award and received an NMMA Innovation Award at the 2017 Miami International Boat Show.
Proven reliable in thousands of outboards, the Cruise electric motor is available in 5, 8 and 20 horsepower equivalents, and is just one of the components that continues to impress awards juries worldwide. The Fixed Pod system incorporates Torqeedo's proven lithium batteries, high-style electronic throttles optimized for sailboats and a new, modern user interface. It charges its own batteries while under sail through hydrogeneration but can also be charged via solar or shore power, or with a generator.
The Cruise Fixed Pod's compact dimensions remove the need for a traditional engine compartment and open up new opportunities for the interior space designs of sailing yachts. Hanse Yachts integrated the motor directly into the rudder of the Hanse 315 e-motion, offering unparalleled
