Texas City Attorneys Association (TCAA)
Board of Directors
- Application Form -
The TCAA Constitution provides that the President of the Association shall appoint a nominating committee of at least three persons, who, at the annual meeting of the Association (the fall meeting in conjunction with the TML Annual Conference each year), shall submit nominees for Association officers. By custom, one Director position becomes available and is filled with a new nominee each year, while each current officer succeeds to the next highest office. The Director position is filled by a majority vote of the membership present and voting.
By completing and submitting this application, I hereby attest to the following:
- I am interested in serving on the TCAA Board of Directors (Board) and wish to be so considered.
- I am an “active member” (defined by the TCAA Constitution as “any person duly licensed to practice law in this state who have been duly elected or appointed to the office of city attorney or assistant city attorney of a city, town, or village which is an active member of the Texas Municipal League”) in good standing with TCAA.
- I understand that service on the Board requires that I attend several meetings during the course of a year, including:
- Winter Board meeting (January in Austin or President’s home town)
- Summer Conference (June in Bastrop for 2015 and 2016)
- Fall Conference (fall at different locations throughout the state).
- I understand that Board service typically lasts for several years (typically 8-10 years) as current Board members are customarily re-nominated for service in successively higher positions that often culminate with service as President.
- I understand that service on the Board is voluntary, and that I am responsible for my own expenses.
