Dear Parents/Guardians of the 4th grade,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself; I am Sharron Holmes and will be teaching the 4th grade for the upcoming academic year of 2016-17. This will be my third year teaching the 4th grade at Valley Stream Christian Academy. However I am not new to teaching.
Welcome to the fourth grade. This will be a great journey and by the end of it the students will be ready for 5th grade. Our goal this year is to cover the curriculum and have our students become independent analytical thinkers; who can manage, stand and plan their own course of work. This year promises to be the best year yet in your children’s academic lives.
Please complete the first part of the Summer Bridges workbook and bring it to school with you on the first day. Also continue reading every day for at least 20 minutes, and practice multiplication facts. We will be so much further ahead if the students already have them committed to memory.
I am confident in the success of this year through our partnership of faith, love, patience and encouragement for our children. Have a wonderful summer and make the best memories ever. See you in September.
