This form is only to be used in application for the degrees of:

PhD, MPhil, DProf, MProf

  • There are three entry points for new research students each academic year. Although we cannot guarantee that you will be offered your preference of entry point, if you would like to be considered for a specific start date then your Application should be received by Graduate Research School by the following deadlines:
  • For a target start date in October make your application by 1st June
  • For a target start date in February make your application by 1stNovember
  • For a target start date in May make your application by 1stMarch
  • International applicants should allow for a longer period due to extra administration required. We advise at least another month in advance of these dates
  • Applications received late will be automatically considered for the next available entry point
  • Your Application will be considered at a review panel. If successful, you will be issued with an offer. This may require you to fulfil certain conditions
  • When all conditions have been met and your application is approved for Registration on a research degree, you will be sent an Unconditional Offer Letter with full details of your programme of study and your official start date
