Easy Does It

Games and Film Group

We are looking to set up a new fun Games and Film Quiz group. Members can join in a variety of activities from traditional table games to quizzes.

Staying Steady - 20 week exercise programme

Dates: Starts Thursday 6th April
Time: 1pm to 3pm
Cost: Free

Come and join our staying steady programme for people who have had a fall, have a fear of falling, have problems with balance or have osteoporosis. Exercise helps improve strength, balance and mobility. To take part in the class you should:

Be in control of any long term health conditions you may have.
Be able to either mobilise independently, with a stick or with two sticks.

Be able to carry out standing exercises for a minimum of 5 minutes.
Be able to make your own way to the classes
Be able to commit to the full 20 weeks.

Easyline

Day: Tuesday
Time: 3pm to 4pm
Cost: Free
Meet with Nicola who will explain how to use our Easyline Gym equipment, fill in relevant paper work and give you an induction and support you to use the Easyline Circuit. Open to groups and individuals.

Hero’s and Villains

Date: Thursdays - Ongoing until 23rd March, members welcome to join anytime.
Time: 1pm to 3pm

Fun look at people who have a link to the North East of England. Are they a Hero or Villains, it’s up to you to decide!

HistoryPin

An opportunity to work with a member of staff from Tyne and Wear Museums.

Each week items from the museum collections will be brought to the sessions. Can you guess what they are and if so, what are your memories. With the help of the museum staff, you will have opportunity to create your own audio scrapbook which will be yours to keep atthe end of the 10 week programme.

The two hour sessions will be held and our Centre’s for Sight in Stonehills, Pelaw and Gordon Street, South Shields.Dates and times to be confirmed.

Walking Football

Walking football is a variant of traditional football that is aimed at keeping people aged over 50 mobile. The sport can be played both indoors and outdoors.

Sight Service are looking to set up a Walking Football Club based at The Bradbury Centre for Sight in Pelaw.

Arts and Craft Group Volunteer Needed

We are looking for a fun and creative volunteer to set up lead a small arts and craft group based at our centre in Pelaw. We have a good range of materials ready to use ranging from textiles to dry and wet mediums.

You will be required to plan activities, sometimes based around the Sight Services annual activities.
