EDNA LAYTON SCHOLARSHIP FUND
APPLICATION INFORMATION 2017-2018
The Edna Layton Scholarship Fund was established by Edna Layton, a teacher in the St. Vrain School District. The Fund provides scholarships for qualified individuals who have graduated from a St. Vrain RE-1J High School who is pursuing an education in the field of teaching.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be agraduate, or prospective graduate of a St. Vrain District RE-1J High School;
- Be pursuing an education in the field of teaching;
- Demonstrate a proven academic, or employment record;
- Be accepted at an accredited college, university or specialized school prior to receiving the scholarship award;
- Non-traditional and post-graduate students are encouraged to apply.
Selection Criteria
Evaluation of the applicants is based on the following criteria:
- Finalists will be asked to interview with the selection committee;
- Personal qualities and strengths;
- GPA;
- Community and school participation;
- Essay;
- Financial need
Requirements
Application packets must include:
- Completed application;
- Essay;
- Official Transcripts;
Note: If you are currently in high school follow the directions provided by your school. If you are not presently in high school, you must request the school to send an official transcript.
- Twoletters of recommendation from school staff or employer.
Deadline
For 2017-18 school year applications are due February 28, 2017
If you are currently attending high school, return the application to the school by February 28, 2017. All others submit the application to the address below by the deadline.
