TBE ASSESSMENTS AND PAYMENT COUPONS–IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Many errors were made sending out our maintenance and special assessment coupons. Many were sent to the wrong address, some people did not receive special assessment coupons, some did not receive any coupons at all. Due to these problems, we wanted to make everyone aware that a maintenance payment was due April 1 for $353.00 and a special assessment payment for $75.00 was also due April 1. If you have not already done so, please submit your payments now. Please make sure your check includes your account number. Your account number is G3, followed by the first 3 letters of your street address, and your street number. (Example: G3-MOC4280). If you have any questions, please call the Office.

PRESIDENT’S CORNER

For our snow birds, I would like to wish everyone a safe journey to your summer homes and look forward to seeing all of you in the Fall.

This has been a great Winter for all of us. Your Board of Directors are working together to make our community a place to be proud of. You have no doubt noticed some very nice changes. Bobbie Jean Truitt and her team - Angel Fedorczyk, Pat Helstrom, Gail Nason, Pat Crowley and MaryAnn Hanes- have done a great job on planting flowers and trimming at the entrance and also planting flowers around the Clubhouse entrance and Office. Carl Helstrom and John Cyrilla power washed the pool area. I can’t forget about the painting that has been done in the Clubhouse thanks to Carolyn Sweeney and her crew. If you haven’t seen it yet, take a look at our new kitchen. Thanks to Brian and his crew for their hard work and the Activity Committee for funding the project. It has been great to see all the volunteers that helped with so many projects completed in the past few months. The other benefit that comes out of all the volunteers helping is the fellowship that is created. We all must remember that this is your community and whatever we can do to make it better for all is a win-win.

I would like to go over some of the items that were brought up at the April Board of Directors meeting.

We were asked if residents could submit items for our Newsletter; absolutely. Items submitted will be reviewed for content and suitability by the Board of Directors and Office. We encourage informative, topical submissions that will be of interest to and benefit all of our residents.

It is illegal to feed wildlife per Florida Fish and Wildlife. By feeding the cute little rabbits and birds, you are also attracting unwanted, disease-carryingvermin, like RATS. To keep our community safe and sanitary, please refrain from feeding ANY wildlife.

If you intend to use another resident’s driveway during the summer months, please be sure to obtain permission prior to using the space. The resident does have a right to have your vehicle towed if permission is not granted.

Another issue that was mentioned was watering of lawns. The current South Florida Water Management District3-Day-A-Week Watering schedule is attached. Please note there is NO watering permitted between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm – the most inefficient time to water due to evaporation. Your cooperation with this policy is greatly appreciated.

Our new maintenance building is coming along according to schedule (see Facilities report). Pictures will be posted on the TBE website to show you the progress of the building.

The Board is always open to suggestions that will improve our community and look forward to receiving your input. Please submit your suggestions to the BOD at the Office.

We will start selling advertising for our Newsletter starting with the November issue. We have more than a dozen businesses wanting to advertise. These businesses have done work in our community and been recommended by residents. This will help to defray some of the mailing costs.

As mentioned before, the Newsletter will be posted on our website for those of you that have internet access.

In closing, I would like to thank June and Patty in our Office for making the transition of the new BOD seamless. They do a great job servicing the residents of our community.

Enjoy your Summer and the good Lord willing, I’ll see you all in October.

Tom Gillette

President

FACILITIES COMMITTEE

I would like to thank my Committee Members and volunteers for all their help in the last few weeks. Also, our Maintenance employees have worked hard at extra jobs I have asked them to do.

Our new Maintenance Building is coming along quite well after all the permits were approved. It should be complete by the end of May if we don’t have any unforeseen problems.

In order to continue to provide high quality water to our residents, we have ordered replacement carbon filters for our water plant.

We always appreciate you volunteering and can always use your expertise.

Carl Helstrom, Chair

Shuffleboard News

Another successful season of shuffleboard has come to an end.

We had a great meal of pizza and salad for our closing banquet at the Clubhouse on Friday, April 13th. My thanks to MaryAnn Hanes, Joanne Swadlo, Pat Helstrom and Janet Acevedo for organizing the food – great job!

Prize money was awarded to the first six teams – Harry Matthews and Eric Frederickson 1st Place – Dianne Smith and Gord Woodhouse 2nd Place – Anne and Jerry Pado 3rd Place. Pat and Carl Helstrom and Tony and Janet Acevedo opted not to play-off so they split 4th and 5th prize money. Joanne Swadlo and Irv Gross and Brian Hamor and Marty Barr were tied for 6th Place and after the play-off Joanne and Irv came out the winners. Congratulations to all!

My sincere thanks to Mike Grant for his much appreciated help and to Gord Woodhouse for assisting me at a moment’s notice, and to all the shufflers who have supported this activity over the past seven years!

Lastly, to all of you for the generous gift card and lovely flowers, my heartfelt thanks.

Have a safe trip home. See you on the courts this Fall.

Dianne B. Smith, President

Rich and I would like to thank all of you for the loving care and concern you have shown to us at this difficult time.
