POINT OF DISPENSING (POD)
Community Partner Training and Exercise
Please join us on Friday, March 13, 2015 for a training session at which the Erie County Department of Health will present an overview of planning for, setting up, and conducting a Point of Dispensing (POD). The training will focus on medical countermeasures, POD operations and set-up, followed by a full scale mass dispensing exercise. Our goal for this dispensing exercise is to familiarize partners and the public with POD operations while achieving a throughput of 2,000+ people per hour! Please help us evaluate and improve Erie County’s ability to dispense emergency medications to all Erie County residents within 48 hours. This exercise will help us fulfill the deliverable requirements for Public Health Preparedness and Response to Bioterrorism grant funding. This training/exercise is designed for any personnel or volunteers who may be tasked with POD operations in a widespread emergency.

Target Audience: Erie County municipalities and emergency managers, Closed POD Partners, Schools of Nursing, Pharmacy, and allied health professions, Hospital/Healthcare Facility Emergency Planners, Community Based Organizations, Scouting Groups, CERT Members, Volunteer Organizations, and the general public. Family members are encouraged to attend as well!
