GA Chapter A&WMA Board Meeting 9-9-2016

  • Have picked up a gift for today’s speaker and have had a number of inquiries so anticipate a good turnout.
  • Secretary’s Report:
  • National AWMA elections are taking place, if you are a national member please take the time to vote.
  • Treasurer’s Report:
  • Cancelled First Data and Amex Business accounts on 8/12/16. Contacted IRS and was advised to use Form 843 to request refund. Currently, waiting on Amex Business to fix the Backup Withholding in their systemand obtain a 1099-K from Amex for 2015, so we can request the correctamount for refunding.

  • Just started semester and are focusing on trying to grow the group
  • Looking to transition chapter leader with new officers later in the semester

  • Cutoff date set for October 3rd
  • Set a minimum number of 40 persons
  • Need to add corporate sponsor to forms
  • Will identify a few individuals to help with registration
  • Reach out to Hometown Dumpster and remind them of the upcoming conference and their ability to set up a display
  • Katy will place an order for various gift items for upcoming events, items such as AWMA mugs, portfolio cases, etc
  • Planning for next “Brown-Bag” in November time period, possible topic regarding PFC regulations
  • A holiday party should be planned for November/December time period. There has been some success with events but depends on location and time on how well it is attended. Red Hare was suggested as a possible location.
