Position Title: SUPPORT WORKER

OBJECTIVE:The focus of this position is the provision of high

quality services to our HCP consumers

REPORTS TO:Team Leader - Home Care Packages Program

CLASSIFICATION:Australian Multicultural Community Services Care Workers Enterprise Agreement 2015

HOURS:Casual position (subject to AMCS and consumerrequirements)

LOCATION:Suite 111, 44-56 Hampstead Road, Maidstone VIC 3012

SUPPORT WORKERS ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting consumers with domestic tasks such as laundry, ironing, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, dusting, bed linen changes, bath, toilet and shower cleaning;
  • Assisting consumers with shopping, transport to medical appointments, monitoring consumers safety, medication prompt and assisting with transfers.
  • Assisting with personal care, showering, dressing and using the toilet.
  • Assist with meal preparation and cooking.
  • Complying with the AMCS Support Workers Manual.
  • Complying with AMCS’ Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and procedures and reporting hazards/ incidents to their supervisor;
  • Carrying out other duties as delegated by their Team Leader, Manager or CEO.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
  • Qualifications in Aged Care or Disability (essential for Support Worker position)
  • Current and valid Drivers Licence
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Reliable registered vehicle with comprehensive insurance
  • Relevant industry experience preferred but not essential
  • Smart mobile phone and internet access
  • Demonstrate empathetic and supportive attitude

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

All employees are subject to satisfactory completion of a six (6) month qualifying period and acceptance by the employer of a current police check. AMCS Management has a right to review position descriptions. Applicants must also have the right to work in Australia.
